wrong of course. You could use vin numbers instead of license plates, you could have competing offices to insure efficiency, you could cut number of forms in half, you could have satisfaction surveys after transactions like private companies do.

 

very very typical lib. throw money at it!! Thats why we spend 4 times more on education and health as the rest of the world for worse results!! Some things a liberal simply cant understand! Sad for our country!!

 

Not really. I'm a conservative and I don't want government to run like a business. I want it to efficiently (i.e. cheaply) do what it needs to do based on what the taxpayers (and the statutes) require it. I don't want it trying to encourage getting more business, I don't want it to grow, and I don't want it competing with private businesses.

 

Business is competitive so there is constant pressure to be efficient. You do want govt to run like that wherever possible unless you like wasting money and wasting time in line?

 

THe pressure for government to be efficient should be from the people, not from some fake competition. Again, I don't want government to grow, advertise, etc. like a business. I want them to be efficient at what they are required to do, and that's it. I don't want them growing and changing, unless at the directive of the people. My DMV works fine locally. Why? because the person we elected to be the county tax collector makes it so. That's what I want from government.

 

yes that was what the soviets and Red Chinese thought before 120 million slowly starved to death. The people have no way to monitor efficiency at DMV and other agencies. Its a struggle even for private companies and their very lives depends on it. Do you understand now?r

 

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but corporations are NOT always efficient. In fact a great deal of money is WASTED in corporations because of BAD management decisions. Yes,when those corporations become "too big to fail" and management screws up it is We the People who bail them out with our tax dollars to the tune of hundreds of billions.

 

I loathe the democrats because they are very far to the right of me.
