To answer your question: Those who think - wrongly - that they are "non-binary" and therefore think - wrongly - that they are morally superior compared to their boring normal fellow human beings, may get depressed when they see that they are NOT morally superior.

Some very, very rare individuals are born with both sets of genitalia. But, do those same individuals have two "X" chromosomes AND one "Y" chromosome? When we mash all the bullshit out of this inquiry, surely that is the primary determining factor. Nothing is more important than SCIENCE!
Non binary is oxymoronic. By creating this classification you create a binary. Between people who are binary and people who are non-binary. In reality this just seems like a way for people to feel special. They want to trans title without the trans commitment.

Hermaphroditism is a 'birth defect'. It has no more influence on the biological standard for gender, than does being born with fused toes does on the 'ten toes' standard.

Well, it is. It’s nothing to be ashamed about. There is a cure for gender dysphoria. Let’s be happy this is a fully treatable condition. I also have a mental disorder. 30 years ago, talking about it would have me ostracized. This is what trans people are currently going through. In 20 years, it will be completely accepted that some people are born with issues in the brain. Im so tired of this notion that people can be born with every abnormality imaginable, except when it comes to the brain. If you are born with a brain abnormality, some think it’s okay to poke fun. I have a young cousin that only has eight toes. Nobody thinks that he should be chastised. Born with a brain malfunction? Criticize, laugh, make us feel less than. Blech.
