    I'd say a large scale boycott effort would be more effective. Don't watch CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, etc. Find out who their sponsors are and refuse to buy their products. There are almost always competitors to those companies who we can support instead. It has to be a large scale coordinated effort, though. The media that we do have would have to be on board.

    Nah, c'mon! It's much better to go whining to the government nanny to get what you want. The more I think about the OP's idea, the more I like it. And as an American expat currently residing in China, I can tell you all about government control of media. I have some free advice to those who would look to govenment to "solve" their problems: Careful what you wish for...

    Want to know why all media except Fox News doesn't cover what Fox News covers? It's unproveable bs. Fox News brainwashes you into thinking they are the only credible source of news.

    Republicans need to overcome the population's overwhelming revulsion first. Dump the teaparty, show good faith and cooperation, and develop some polices.

    say whaaaa? I don't know where you've been, but these last three years BOTH parties have been bucking each other, yet only one (the GOP) has taken flack from the media for it. Presumed reason is because the Dems has "more" controll of our government, so the Republicans not going along with ridiculous policies, and refusal to make compromises that offered only lip service is obstructionism, or a lack of 'good faith and cooperation.' Hell, if the Dems in the Senate would at least do something with the budgets passed by the House for the last four years, then they'd have some ground to speak from. As it stands, they don't.

    99% of the media is beholden to conservative advertisers. "Liberal media" comes from the Republican propaganda machine. Ever wonder why all radio talk is dishonest conservative talk while 50% of the country is liberal? Someone with common sense might wonder about that.
