On what grounds does he say this?
and TBH such statements are silly, far too sweeping and will do nothing except upset people, cause wider schisms and allow victims of racism to use such statements as justification for further trouble.
OTOH if he is right, and the context supports it, someone has to be brave enough to recognise it and not run away from the issue.
Did he offer any solutions to his perceived problem?

Define cool enough? Down with leftists tropes regarding race and gender? Better get it together there are increasing numbers of black people who aren't down with that.

In the end if your sense of self is so week and view on the world is so myopic that you can neither stand to have it questioned nor adequately defend it when it is, then the problem sir or madam, as the case may be isn't those who challenge your views but you and more importantly the ideas that you have chosen to believe.

One grows stronger physically by overcoming physical challenges. Mental challenges work in a similar fashion with the added benefit of helping you to better understand the world around you.

At the last the man who tells you that certain ideas must not be challenged is really telling you is that those ideas are indefensible.

Yahoo.news should have never approved such a ridiculous article/opinion piece that does nothing but cause divide.

If you're basing the question based on a racial attribute then the answer is "yes, its racist". There is no "yes...and no" to it.

The things that you describe are about social anxieties/interactions. But skin color has nothing to do with social anxieties/interactions. Not to someone that truly does not care about skin color. I can understand not wanting to be around a boisterous football fan. I can understand not wanting to be around someone because of them being an aristocrat. I can even understand not wanting to be around someone because of their religion. But to not want to be around someone because of an immutable characteristic that they were born with? Its stupid and low minded and there is no excuse for it in this day and age.

Sorry but this sort of crap has to be out in the open so it can be challenged and destroyed. I will not start acting like the woke mob in order to defeat it.

I say let them push this racist agenda of theirs loud and proud. White people are FINALLY starting to wake up. I’ve been begging them to for over a decade.

It's not getting destroyed. It's getting support. It's much easier to cast a villain for everything that ales you, rather than to take responsibility. White people are the villains right now. And I would no sooner give a white supremacist a voice in a major news outlet to perpetuate his bullshit as I would this ****ed up nonsense.

It depends on the content of that soul: “Well. What shall we do today? Shall we clean the graffiti off of Mrs. Bitchmore’s fence or shall we loot Wallfreens?”

White people are no villains. If not for us they would still be enslaved to this day. If they were not enslaved they would be living in a grass hut, blowing smoke at their sick, and piercing their nose with bones. Facts are facts their lives are better and I will never apologize for white accomplishments. Our history of freeing slaves, explorers, and inventors is nothing to be ashamed of. I will never bow in defeat to any racist pig no matter his color or his justification for hating my skin color.

Racist scum is racist scum. Intellectually, the only difference between Louis Farrakhan and the Grand dragon of the kkk is the color i
of the skin of the people they hate. Both are just asshats trying to pay racial animosity into political power.

Hmm maybe that's why Democrats keep lining up to kiss his ass.

Some solutions tyrants always offer give them more power and they'll fix everything, but they never do they can't. There's too much everything and they don't even know all the questions yet, let alone all the answers.

By the way, much of the left's current complaints bare much resemblance to a species of Reichstag fire moment.

So the kkk got support for years. It's now little more than a bunch of really old really grumpy men sitting around their garage sharing beer and talking about the good old days that never were. With diligence and logic we can do the same for the monsters of wokeness without becoming them.

Given that it is true that for the last 200 odd years, the white male has been the assumed dominant species in western culture and black people have become the dominant inferior species, a rebalance started to take place in the early 20th century when two world wars gave women a more important place . But black people were still being assumed to be inferior.
So we had an imbalance of worth designated by skin colour UNTIL some brave souls started to challenge that.
Unfortunately any levelling up" is seen by SOME white people, confident of their divine right to be superior, as a cultural mistake. The old sense of black people being "uppity" still remains.
It will take couple more generations to fix.

    I agree.
Unfortunately there are white people who are frightened of black people.
I don't necessarily criticise this...when I was young and recall books I read at a very formative age, there were pictures of leering, huge black men with bulging eyes and big teeth. When I watched TV the bad guys were never white. Even Tonto could pass for white, though he was never given much credit. Black people melted into the night, were lynched, women were always servants and children never played with white better dressed white children. Remember please, I am taking about BOOKS, not reality.
So impressions are laid down and hard to erase. First impressions when those readers now see black people is negative and there needs to be a course correction.
Only a lot of real time with black people can do that...only equal opportunity can do that.

I’m sorry, but you can’t blame people who are long dead for current problems.
In russian empire, and huge part of Europe, serfdom was abandoned around the same time slavery was abandoned in the US.
No one in Europe obsesses about slavery that ended 150 years ago, yet progs on this side of the pond just can’t let go.

The problem is they are currently getting support from congress and our elected leaders. For this to meet it's end, we will have to play it out...the long game.

The thing about Touré is that his entire life is has been elitist and white-centric. His father was Bahamian and an accountant who worked for one of Boston's mayors. Touré has had a life of elite schools and probably never attended one of those fabled Black BBQ's he mentioned. His wife is Lebanese-American (so white) and the idea that he speaks for Black America seems ridiculous. I think he should try to arrange an invite to one of those sacred spaces before he worries about white people doing the same thing.
