I have no ill feelings towards anyone based on their race, color, religion, etc. and treat all people as they treat me. And I feel like I live in some form of harmony in this civilization, so it angers me that so many others are not more accepting. If these behaviors were confined to their personal lives it would not be a problem, but this stuff is dragged into society via religion, and politics, and other BS polarization and it directly effects the evolution of our nation...

    Nicely stated...

Sadly, many of these personal preferences are deeply embedded in people and it's hard to shake. I remember long ago talking with my dad about Black people, and he grew up in the late 1800's early 1900's on a farm in MN, and as a kid all he ever heard was the N-word for Blacks, so until he was much older and relocated from the area, did he realize he was stuck in a cultural or societal rut and that he needed to stop labeling people. It took my dad a few decades to learn this and he wanted to change; how long will it take others who are not yet interested in changing?

Interesting yet Carter is arguably one of the smartest presidents we've had...

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, in totally integrated neighborhoods and schools, and no doubt there were racial tensions...but not with the hatred we have in some parts of the USA. As a White kid I never felt threatened and I suspect at that time a Black kid felt the same...but this has changed. Here I was in this racial melting-pot yet I was dumbfounded to hear/see what was going on in the deep South regarding Blacks...I had no idea this hatred existed! So it was more geographic and cultural I guess so how long will this take to evolve?? But then again, now it's the Hispanics and the Muslims, so I guess the collective we will never tire of our xenophobia...

    You missed the first question.

Would you want to be a white person caught in a violent black flash mob?

There is no problem with obama's color no matter how desperately liberals try to make that THE issue.

The problems are obama's inexperience, his incompetence, his education that produced no wisdom, and his ideological intransigence. These problems are magnified by his overly massive ego and his refusal to accept responsibility for his many errors and his propensity to claim credit for things he has no right to claim.

obama is a legend in his own mind and an abject failure everywhere else.

IF he wasn't black, the liberal left would have impeached him by now.

So, what excuse could any person in our republic have to not be a better person in our republic, if they are not in official poverty?

3 years, $5 TRILLION MORE IN DEBT. 1.3 million fewer jobs than when he started. Debt to GDP at 67% when he took over and now its over 100%, Housing still FLAT. Foreclosures still rampant. GDP growth, a myth! And you get hard and sweaty over accomplished professional SEALS killing some neanderthal terrorist.

    No wonder you're an obamalamaloopa.

The Presidents color is not the issue, it is his liberal/progressive policies.

I am still willing to vote along party lines, to the party that ends the drug war.

why can we still afford a war on drugs, instead of more campuses for higher education?

Not sure where you get this information but I lived through the Carter disaster...

    http://www.issues2000.org/Celeb/Jimmy_Carter_Budget_&_Economy.htm

On assuming office in 1977, President Carter inherited an economy that was slowly emerging from a recession. He had severely criticized former President Ford for his failures to control inflation and relieve unemployment, but after four years of the Carter presidency, both inflation and unemployment were considerably worse than at the time of his inauguration. The annual inflation rate rose from 4.8% in 1976 to 6.8% in 1977, 9% in 1978, 11% in 1979, and hovered around 12% at the time of the 1980 election campaign. Although Carter had pledged to eliminate federal deficits, the deficit for the fiscal year 1979 totaled $27.7 billion, and that for 1980 was nearly $59 billion. With approximately 8 million people out of work, the unemployment rate had leveled off to a nationwide average of about 7.7% by the time of the election campaign, but it was considerably higher in some industrial states.
    =====================================

I would also add that Interest Rates hit their highest levels in History under Carter, which made getting loans for almost any purpose undesirable...

And then there is the Iranian Hostage Crisis.

I think when you combine the deficiencies you mention about Obama, along with his color, along with the xenophobia that remains in the USA, we've got what we got today.

It will be interesting to see how the election unfolds. If Obama loses I suspect race will enter the analysis. If Obama wins I suspect he will see this as an affirmation of his performance to date...if so this means four more years of not much happening...

Then you believe the US electorate is open-minded to electing a Hispanic president, or Muslim president?

I don't think that the color of the president's skin has actually affected his job performance one way or the other, nor has it affected the country except to tick off a couple of racists.

I suppose it has also generated some terrible, TERRIBLE ethnic humor.

What a load. As if maligning the entire TEA Partiers as racists (without a shred of proof), when they are just decent and concerned citizens is considered nothing by you.

Is the Congressional Black Caucas still claiming TEA Partiers want to hang blacks from trees?

See, what you're doing there is saying that it's unfair to claim that ALL of the tea partiers are racist, which is true -- but you're acting as though I'm somehow to blame for what one member of the congressional black caucus said a year ago. Does that make sense to you?

A president would really need to be in the crapper to be impeached by their own party...
