Yeah, it’s hard to take corporate virtue seriously, when you know that profit is the the only thing that matters.

It is the understanding of the US as structurally White Supremacist and the demand that the police be defunded, the jails emptied and AA implemented in every aspect of society.

A controversial concept indeed. Can you cite that description?

What’s your opinion thought? Because, one only has to see how business is conducted in America as ample evidence that the opposite is true.

I disagree with that. Business in America is much more socially conscious than they used to be and getting more so. Customers are driving that and this is where I disagree with the book, (though I haven't read it all the way through). Henderson seems to think that customers will never purchase enough to support social consciousness and that SC will always cost more, and so regulation will be required I disagree with both of those ideas and think history doesn't support them. People are not totally against ideas that will benefit them and their children and much more importantly technology has made everything we do much cleaner as time has went on.

Then feel free to give us some examples where conscious consumers both lowered prices and achieved its goals. I personally cannot think of any. As I said earlier, it is more a marketing ploy. You backhandedly acknowledge that when you said customers are "driving that". Organic food costs more. Dolphin safe tuna costs more. Alternative energy is driving the prices for consumers up not down. We killed off paper bags in the name of ending acid rain and now our oceans are full of plastics. Most of what we "recycle" either still gets buried or burned as fuel in a power plant. Just because some Californian will pay twice as much at whole foods for a bag of GMO free-range carrots as the consumer at Walmart does not mean that a carrot isn't consumed. The only true conscious consumption is the conscious decision not to consume something you want.

A funny example of that is last disney/marvel movie, Black widow, all "women are amazing" in the movie (from what I heard, I don't go see that kind of trash to the movie theater), but when S.Johannsen revolted for Disney not respecting their contract, they break her.

I still say that technology can usually resolve these issues just as it always has until now.

Your lack of examples not withstanding, so far technology simply allows people to order more stuff online from the cheapest seller whether that has to be shipped from China or some other poop hole, leaving Jeff Bezos with more money to waste on vanity endeavors.

Gee, you are familiar with all those concepts. Woke is where they come from. Where do you think they come from?

If you want to call it something else I guess you can, but activists call it woke.

Most people who actually follow the precepts of the French Enlightenment call it righteous behavior or virtue. Followers of the dark enlightenment use "woke"
