This is why I don't trust most doctors. They have an incentive to keep you coming back. Most doctors will also tell you that diet and exercise alone will not solve your problems, when it's the lack of those two things that were the cause of most people's problems to begin with. Doctors are nothing more than legal drug dealers, and they will do anything to convince you that you need to be taking meds. And because they have their pretty little white coats on & their clip-board, people believe them.
I don't know of a single doctor that does not encourage their patience to pursue responsible diet and exercise. Riiight, because doctors are never concerned about preventative care. Improper diet and exercise lowers our defenses and can lead to injury. It makes us more susceptible to disease, but in most cases, it doesn't cause the disease. Diet and exercise are an important part of PREVENTION and RECOVERY, but they are not a cure for most illnesses. I've never had a physician like that. I doubt many people here have. As opposed to believing the ones in pretty little white coats & their clipboard who are peddling "cures" that have no scientific basis.
So you keep going to a Doctor who does not cure your ailments? Why do you do such a foolish thing? Last time I went it was for a broken rib, how would diet and exercise have cured my pain and suffering?
+1. The free market guarantees this to be true. Anybody that can cure cancer would be a multi-billionaire.
Hmm, my doctor has been harping on me about diet and exercise for years. He has told me that most of my problems will be lessened by losing weight. Most people I know have similar stories about doctors. In fact, some of my friends don't go to doctors because they know they will be told to lose weight....... (by diet and exercise).
I would agree everything possible is being done, what Doctor or Scientist would not want to be the first to claim a cure,,it's ridiculous... There comes a point where money would just not be enough to silence something that huge. It would be the greatest medical gift to mankind ever discovered...whoever came up with such a cure would be Crowned the greatest Medical genius of all time. Look how they fought over the credit for many cures or advances in medicine, Cancer is number One.
Doctors know that most people aren't going to help themselves, which makes self-help easy to recommend, and drugs easier to sell. They're required to inform you, but they don't make a big deal about it. Just look at the drug commercials on TV. They sell the idea that you just can't do it on your own. You need the pills! lol. And these pills are fvcking dangerous, which means you'll be back for another pill for the ailment(s) caused by the first pill. Get a clue. A lot of people are taking some kind of meds, and know what I'm talking about. It's a come-back business. But people are too fvcking dumb to notice. They'd rather trust the man in the pretty white suit carrying the clip-board, with a license to use patients as lab rats, than someone like me.
So when confronted about your claim that doctors don't tell people about diet and exercise, you change your tune and say they *do* tell people, but they *only* tell people because they *know* their patients won't follow through? Really? By whom? The same ebil medical industry that is in on the rest of your conspiracy theory? Why would the industry that doesn't want people exercising and dieting require doctors to tell people about exercising and dieting. Bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Because they advertise a cure, they are trying to perpetuate the disease? Some of them are. Which is why doctors carefully weigh the side effects against the ailments they cure and inform their patients about the risks involved so that they can make an informed decision. Example? If they knew what you were talking about, they'd either still be medication because they accept the risks or they'd stop taking the medication. Forgive us for relying on medical science, but no one has been able to offer a better alternative. Yes. Because the guy in the lab coat is more qualified to speak on issues involving my health.
