Well we still vote to elect other officials and show our support. I can't see a 3rd party candidate ever winning. There is a greater chance of Illinois flipping red and I still doubt that will happen. Thanks to Chicago.

 

I will vote for an R or D sometimes for other offices. You vote to show your support even though a candidate cannot win the state...which is the exact reason I do not vote for one of them, they do not rate my support. I vote to give the 3rd party candidate support as they are always 100% more deserving

 

I think many if not most Democrats would vote for opposition candidates that really stood for reducing the size and power of government by taking wealth from government and our ruling political class and transferring it to the active productive workforce.

Alas that kind of political opposition does not exist in either major party.

This whole obsession with conservatives and libertarians over the "size of government" is such utter bs. Everytime I ask, how big should it be, all I get is the same vague answer. Face it, a good chunk of those who spout this think we don't need any government at all, or one where it can be drowned in a bathtub. All it takes is one cold snap with freezing rain to uncover the ineptitude of this kind of thinking. Then again, politicians know all too well the short attention span of their constituents, so go figure.

If these tariffs were so devastating, and counter productive, why hasn’t Biden lifted a single one?

Record number of black people, females, minority people and veterans running in 2022 for the Republican party and some of them are very young.

Say goodbye to the party of old white men and hello to the new party representing all legal Americans.

Only the Marxists call for the elimination of government. Libertarians tend to ignore the need for strong effective governments, especially in the world as it exists today. The Founder recognized government as a "necessary evil".

IMO, almost all ordinary human beings would be happy to see the size and power of government cut in half. Especially if the savings from those cuts went directly into vested accounts targeted to meet the needs of the productive workforce.
Crafty populist politicians could easily win elections on such a platform. Money still matters.

The new party is still the Republican party. We are just making it more diverse.

Ballot pedia predicts 24 Democratic house seats will be battle grounds compared to 4 for Republicans in 2022. These are the house seats where the winner in 2020 won with a small majority. However the actuall number of flippable seats is of course much higher and it will historically favor Republicans. Plus the 2020 Cencus added house seats to the Republican party.

It looks almost impossible for the Democrats to keep the house and while they have a better chance on taking the Senate there is still more flippable Democrat seats then Republican seats for the Senate.

Let's start with women. 121 so far are running for the house beating out 2020's 50 women who had announced running at this time. 227 women ended up running in 2020 for house seats and we had a record number of elected women bringing our total to over 30 in the house.

Record number of veterans are running this year to. However your question asked how many are not white. I can't find the article that I am referring to that said there was a record number of blacks running but several articles stated they expect the 2020 midterms to be the blackest ever for both parties. In AZ alone I know 2 black men running for the GOP. The Republican party only has 3 black people right now so adding to that would be big for us.

 

And this is sort of the key. It is easy to have a "record number" when the previous record was just barely above zero.

 

IMO there would be a strong bias in favor of cash over almost any government program or service. The problem would be resisting the temptation to cut more than half.

Ambitious politicians short on donor money might target the education system. That would represent at least $15K to $22K/year for every student. Propose to transfer that money into vested accounts for the parents and guardians of children to negotiate directly with teachers.
Parents and teachers would become an unbeatable base of voter support.

 

I have no clue what you think this would accomplish. Then again, you believe there are Marxists running around. Enough said.
