Was there ever a point in the history of the united states where such was not actually the case? Has it ever not lead the rest of the world when it comes to the number of firearm-related deaths?

 

But why? You cannot point to history because when it comes to wiping out native populations......well let’s just say our history is pretty bleak

 

We had slavery, we had native wars we had boat loads of Asians Triads and still we have a far lower mortality rate

 

It would be nice to go through life itself without ever having skinned one's knee too; but life doesn't work like that.

Life is dangerous. None of us is getting out of this alive, so I'd rather live what life I have with as much freedom as possible even though I know there risks entailed with being free.

Same here. Actually probability of being shot by a madman is extremely low.

 

It is a difference of not only the people who live within the country, but the differences in cultures within each country. The nation of Australia and the united states are simply not similar nor comparable to one another. It is not simply a matter of comparing apples to oranges, it is more akin to trying to compare apples to cinder blocks.

 

Ultimately, the "threat" is our gov. and the founders realized this! There should never be a drastic overstep given the citizenries' ability to resist... Kind O' the whole point!

 

News flash for you ladies and gentlemen. If push comes to shove it isn't the individual ownership of weapons that would arm the resistance. Money, raids on armories, organization, etc., would arm us with crates of real weapons. That's how it works.

 

Then if such is ultimately the fact of the matter, there is simply no reason to oppose legal firearms ownership in the united states as it presently is.

 

A) That makes zero sense. B) I don't oppose legal ownership.

So can I, and I have skinned my knees (and the rest of me) numerous times over the years.

I've also been in a position where if I had been banned from carrying a defensive firearm like many GCA's demand I would not have survived.

So, it is fair to say that I could NOT live with being disarmed.

So, the measure is, if more people survive without needing to defend their lives from a violent criminal attack than die because they weren’t able to defend themselves by the role of the dice, that justifies gun the levels of control the left advocates. A sacrifice of a few lives to sustain the the narrative is ok, eh? It’s not unlike those that call for disarmament at the risk of the lives that would enforce it while they stand in the back cheering it on. Reminds me of the herd behavior crossing streams full of crocs, those that become dinner, distract so others can cross.

 

The united states federal government has already gone on record as stating the value of a human life is less than the tax it collects on the sale of either tobacco products, or alcoholic beverages.
