    No we don't.

Those we need will be easy enough to get.

I've always been curious by that attitude. Which country do you think has the fewest doctors per capita, the US or any of those 7 Muslim countries? Do you regard it as a positive thing when Western countries take in medical professionals from countries that need them far more?

What facts ? There are no facts here. That’s the point. Six pages of posts over fiction.

    Progressives out there.

Would a "happy medium" be allowing Non-Citizens with a Green Card to continue to receive welfare benefits if they participated in public works programs?

If the Progressive/Democratic Party would actually see this as an issue it would be a MASSIVE boon to their party. Hillary herself just said it, immigration is an albatross around your neck, would something like this be of interest?

IMO, this is a HUGE example of why we need to make sure our border is secure. Wall or not, just letting tens of thousands of people per year walk in and then claim welfare for life is hurting us in a horrible way.

If the "average welfare per recipient" is $25 per day (google) or a bit above 9 grand per year, we are talking about more than 40 BILLION dollars. That is almost 8% of the entire welfare spent in the nation.

Literally, the loss of resources taken by the United States government could be used on citizens whom are dying or in serious need of help.

L-O-L. Why don't do some research before spouting such nonsense. There have been SCOTUS cases on this well before 1960.

On topic. Non-citizens do not equal illegal immigrants.

Failed logic. Since when "non citizens" automatically means "illegal immigrants"??

Obviously somebody lied when he said Mexico would pay for the wall, his gullible base cheered him on and now both he and them are walking back and welching on this "promise."

Any idea why the Survey of Income and Program Participation included both 'immigrant citizens' and 'naturalised citizens?'

You know for a fact that it isn't because they are eligible right?

No, that source doesn't break down how many of the public assistance recipients are illegally in the US, the Center for Immigration Studies source states they are about 70% of the recipients in California, nearly as many in Texas and a bit less in Florida. This has all been documented with sources before.

    1. The article say nothing to support the point. And
    2. From the article:

Unfortunately, the U.S. government has no central database containing information on the citizenship status of everyone lawfully present in the United States. The overall problem of estimating the illegal alien population is further complicated by the fact that the majority of available sources on immigration status rely on self-reported data. Given that illegal aliens have a motive to lie about their immigration status, in order to avoid discovery, the accuracy of these statistics is dubious, at best. All of the foregoing issues make it very difficult to assess the current illegal alien population of the United States.

You just proved that the premise of the OP is a falsehood.

Yeah? so people just come straight out and admit that they are here illegally? Please do tell.

If illegal aliens are eligible for public assistance, then the government will know that they are illegal, so no need for them to "come straight out and admit that they are here illegally." However, I'm questioning whether they are actually eligible. The only time that I've heard about the possibility of illegal aliens getting public assistance is when they use fake documentation so that they can be treated as a permanent resident or citizen.

Illegals collect through their US born children, including SNAP, free public schooling, child care tax credits, etc. These are well known facts.

That illegals are costing americans $150 billion per year in welfare, healthcare - over 80 hospitals have closed due to illegals' non-payment of bills, free public schooling, plus the tens of billions sent out of the country in remittances, is an established fact.

Not sure what you are even pretending to argue here.
