Going with an AR-10 chambered for a real rifle cartridge (7.62X51) not a varmint cartridge (5.56X45) like most AR's.

    Good choice.

It's kinda nice when you can reach out 500 meters or more and touch someone.

Yeah but if I get one, I will want 2-a "standard" style with 20 inch barrel, and a precision version, maybe with a 24 inch barrel.

I've got a couple of lowers. I want to finish them before the election. Got most of the parts for the first one. Don't know on the uppers if I want to go 18 in 5.56 for longer range or 300BLK. I also want to get precision bolt gun for long range, but I don't think even Hillary will try to get those very soon so I have some time.

I already have an HK-91 in 7.62 x 51. for the longer range fun (up to about 500 yards). Heavy gun, not too good for cqb. I want a Savage 10 FCP-SR for 800 to 1000K yards. All in 308. Don't want to add another type cartridge to my inventory.

Im picking up some 80% lowers too, mainly because I can get them made before the election. Never made an 80% lower before, but I have a Navy friend who knows machining. He got a polymer lower (I've read about them having cracking issues) but he assures me the new ones are beefed up, im still going with aluminum though. He's insisting that the material wont matter in machining them though.

It really sucks having to make last minute firearms purchases (that might need to last a lifetime+) because a democrat is running for POTUS promising to take them away. Being in California Im used to it.

I have a Savage 10-FP-HSP, outstanding rifle. Smallest group I've shot is .2 MOA, most are around .6 MOA. One nice thing about Savage is you can swap out barrels easily.

    We are talking about rifles.

The whole idea is, eliminate the varmint before it gets within pistol frange.

All you had was either your M-14 or your M-16.

If you wore a .45 pistol you were sniper bait.

Back during the era (WW-l, WW-ll, Korea, Vietnam) knowing how to fistacuff determined if you would survive when the enemy was with in arms length.

Today's millennials have been indoctrinated that fistacuffing is politicaly incorectt when growing up so today we issue them a pistol along with a rifle.

My pistol of choice is a 1911.
My rifle of choice is in a battle rifle cartridge.

I've even studied the science (medical, not gun magazine)
