A friend of mine is having a hard time with debt from her mortgage and back taxes owed - works full time, not on welfare, trying to pay it off. Can anyone recommend any charities that help people with tax or mortgage payments? Thanks.
Some females find it quite lucrative to take as a second or perhaps a main job by prostituting themselves. Just a thought. I foreclosed on my house that was underwater at the time and I left unpaid bankloans and credit card debt in the dust and moved to start a new life. I still have those creditors calling me on a daily basis and sending me letters from collection agencies, but nothing so far has materialized. She just has to learn to live life at a lower $$ level by forgoing some of her amenities.
its clearly her fault for being in this position, she should take responsibility for her own actions its not anyone else's place to help her that breeds dependency and a culture of handouts, its also not fair to restrict her freedom to make her own decisions and fully exercise her liberty.

Well, there is still HAMP it's an Obama program though. Also Hope for Home Ownership? I think that is the name.
Has she tried to work with the IRS? One thing for sure tell her not to try one of those companies you see on TV that say they will help, they are a scam. And on the mortgage their are groups that while they will not pay her mortgage might possibly be able to help her negotiate a modification.
I figured it out- you give him the money! So your income on average is $2200 for four weeks aka a month? And your expenses are $900 which I'll call $1200? That leaves you $1,000 a month to lend him!
She can renegotiate her payments with the IRS to lower her monthy payments. The IRS cannot impose a financial burden on a person that would lead to bankruptcy (which few people seem to know) and they are willing to renegotiate the payment of back taxes and penalties in such cases. As for owning a home that she can't afford she should probably consider selling and purchasing a home she can afford. It always amazes me that people purchase homes that they can't afford. She doen't need a charity, she needs to be more practical in her budget.
No, my income's potentially closer to $2800 a month if I work 40-50 hours, and my base monthly living expenses are about $750. So that leaves with with potentially $2100 per month to lend her. Why don't you pitch in and cut back a little on some of the cash you spend on your doobies?
