Why are you this bad at grasping the fact that what he did was aiding the enemy?

I say let the freak run ... Dems will get the representation they deserve. Showcase DNC standards of excellence by puting this felonious, cross dressing traitor on national display. That's what I call a winning strategy! :roflol:

WRONG. 7 UNT units had to be setup to control the flow of information. Per your report, it was hundreds of thousands of classified cables.

Are you a robot? How do you not grasp why Bradley was in prison?

i don't think that merely releasing information should qualify as a crime, especially when it concerns war crimes, when it results in no real world harm

Which is perfectly fine. Except the crime wasn't releasing the files. The crime was collecting them, moving them from secured locations or systems. Oh, and then there is the release of classified information which actually is a crime.

There's information, then there's classified information. One is not a crime to release. One is pretty much treason

of course it's illegal to blow a government coverup, that's how the government covering something up works. that doesn't make it not the right thing to do, and that doesn't mean it should be illegal

classified information theoretically doesn't have to do with "government coverups" Classified information could contain covert operations with allied nations, secret humanitarian aid missions...etc.

Your lack of knowledge regarding this explains your outrage

There's things that have a good reason to be kept hidden and things that don't. You listed some things that do have a good reason. Not everything classified is classified for a good reason.

No, it's not. Not everything is rainbows and funland. War is hell. Classified is classified for a reason. If made public, people could die or operations could fail.

What Bradley did was a treasonous act intended to endanger lives. Luckily he didn't do as much damage as he hoped to

Oh, so everything the government does is right, because if it isn't then The Terrorists might get you. That's some bootlicker ****. You can't even expose war crimes or else that's bad because The Terrorists.

Like the FISA memo, for instance.

It's not just terrorists. It could be countries spying on us, it could be counter intelligence, it could be information about ANYTHING.

Which is why there are classification levels for everything. They are classified per the amount of danger the public or nation could be in if released.

Transparency matters. Unless there's people willing to tell the government to **** off when they abuse the power to classify information, it's nothing but a path to authoritarianism.

Transparency and national security are too different things. Unfortunately, your lack of experience in this area is why you can't grasp this.

National security agencies need to be held accountable somehow, and that can't happen if whistleblowers aren't willing to stop them from abusing their secrecy.

Completely irrelevant. The crime is the crime. Don't like it? Work to change the law. But stop asserting that your opinion has merit because you believe in the fantasy.

Okay, so you just lick the boots of whoever is in power? You don't make independent judgements? You just doggedly defend the status quo?

Everybody has reasons why they would like to tell the government to f-off. What would happen if we all did it?
