So how would a "living wage health care daycare paid parental leave cheap college and training great infrastructure and vacations and ID card" help us compete with China?

And we're the only modern country without a living wage? What other modern country has a living wage?

I was trying to be candid and serious, but if you think that American "high schools are okay", then you must not really be familiar with what passes for 'education' in the United States at all. But, if you really do live in Warszawa (Warsaw), Poland, this is understandable. Similarly, I don't know 'squat' about the public education system(s) in Poland, either....

Afterthought: The schools in Texas (since you singled it out) have become tragically 'dumbed-down' during the last forty years, just as they have in all the other states. I have owned acreage in Central Texas and I can tell you, we property owners had to fight the local school districts every two or three years because of all the bureaucratic tricks they played to gull even more money out of us in taxes that went straight to them! As it was, by the time I finally sold my acreage there, the school districts were already 'sucking-up' over 70% of all county property taxes in Williamson County, Texas.

I went to a number of different, very typical, quite ordinary public schools in Texas a million years ago, back when schools weren't social-indoctrination mills for future generations of clueless, ignorant 'adult-children'. Back then, most of us learned enough to help us make our way in life well enough, and even from such unremarkable small town schools as the ones I attended, a large percentage of us went on later to graduate with Bachelor's degrees (or higher) from decently-accredited, well-respected universities....

If what you say were true, then WHY haven't Democrats changed the U. S. Tax Code to make it really fair for everyone when they had the Presidency, the House, and the Senate in their control -- as they did when their wonderous "Messiah" Obama took over from "W" Bush in January 2009?! DEMOCRATS HAD THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY, BUT THEY DIDN'T! And that's just one example....

Democrat President Bill Clinton's "Tax Reform Act of 1993" made a few 'cosmetic-class' changes to the tax code, but it failed completely to get rid of these rotten exemptions, exclusions, deductions, tax "loopholes", tax "shelters", and all the rest of it. As I said -- the truth is that both rich Republicans and rich Democrats LIKE this miserably unfair tax code, and will never do anything to really change it and make it FAIR for everyone!

My prediction: Joe Biden, like all Democrat presidents going back at least as far as Frankie Roosevelt, won't do anything to get rid of the existing U. S. Tax Code, either. It'll continue to be 'business-as-usual', and for Biden, "business" has been good... VERY good. 8)

And that is the only time they had 60 votes for about 35 days in the last 50 years. That's why. It's pretty simple. And you can't change the tax rates like that in the middle of a corrupt bubble and bust GOP economic meltdown. I still can't believe Massachusetts elected Scott Brown and took away the 60th vote.

None of your baseless conspiracy theories about the bidens either. Clinton never got to do what he wanted either. The bills he signed were mainly Republican bills.

So, you have nothing of relevant substance to comment on regarding WHY Democrats (so endlessly dedicated to egalitarian populism) have never taken the opportunity -- even when they had ALL the power needed to do so -- to re-write the U. S. Tax Code. You completely 'forget' the fact that "Messiah" Obama had majorities in both the House and Senate when he took over total power in January 2009? But you project the concept that somehow Democrats are 'fair' and Republicans are somehow uniquely 'unfair'? All big-wig, super-rich Democrats care about the 'abused, downtrodden poor'...? :roflol:

    "Hypocrite, thy name is DEMOCRAT!"

[IMG]. "Now exactly WHY in hell would WE ever want to increase OUR own taxes...?!" 8)

The only time they have had the power in the last 50 years was when they had 60 votes in the senate for 30 days in session that they used for obamacare. And you can't screw with taxes in the middle of a gigantic meltdown. They could do Obamacare because it didn't start for 4 years.

For the billionth time you need 60 votes in the Senate to pass reform. Reconciliation is only good for cutting taxes on the rich and services for everyone else.

I am sure that, for instance, the two Demo-celebrities I put in the cartoon, 'Limousine Liberals' John Kerry and Al Gore, would agree with you heartily! There's ALWAYS a rationalization for WHY nobody ever really does ANYTHING good about the U. S. Tax Code!

    John Kerry's net worth (including that of his über-wealthy wife) = > $1,000,000,000 (yeah, with a "B"....)
    Al Gore's net worth = $330,000,000
Shall I continue now with the Clinton Family 'cartel', the Biden Family 'cartel', et al...?

[IMG]. "Oh, it's just dreadful never to be able to make people like US pay a 'fair share'....".:roflol:

What can a political faction NOT DO in the United States when they control the Executive Branch and BOTH segments of the Legislative Branch of the federal government?! :confusion:

Truth? In politics as in anything else, people do what they WANT to do, and then rationalize it to suit the selected agenda. If imposing an unconstitutional semi-socialized-medicine fraud (Obamacare) on the United States was more important to Democrats than totally re-writing the Tax Code so that it was truly fair for all taxpayers -- THAT tells us something very important about 'Limousine Liberal' Leftists....

And 40% of agricultural production revenue was payments from the government....
Government payments spike to 40% of farm income. Thanks to the government paying nearly 40 percent of their income, U.S. farmers on average were expected to close out 2020 with higher profits than in 2019 and the best net income in seven years, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest farm income forecast.2 days ago

Cheap college and training like every other modern country has is what we need. For the good jobs that can be produced by these new markets. We're letting Germany and China get all the good jobs in technical Fields....

Democrats need 60 votes to pass reform in the Senate and have had 35 days all in 2009 incession since 1968. Quite the scam the GOP has going.... Who is dumb enough to vote for Republicans now. Just the totally missinformed Rupert Murdoch audience etc.

I keep on blaming BOTH Republicans AND Democrats for the horribly and obviously unfair taxation policies in this country, and you keep on saying that everything is all the fault of Republicans only. I guess we aren't going to get anywhere, and, as before, the U. S. Tax Code will go right on being exactly what it is -- TOTALLY SATISFYING TO BOTH 'FAT CAT' REPUBLICANS AND 'LIMOUSINE LIBERAL' DEMOCRATS....

At the rate we're going, the nascent Russian-Chinese-EU (German) alliance will take over everything of any importance in the Eastern Hemisphere during the next ten years. But, we Americans will sit over here, stupidly, in our shrinking 'sphere of influence', and fight each other in our endless political civil wars. But, pay your taxes on time... the government needs the money to pay for more 'social programs'. :lonely:
