We already use AI and it is well into the phase of implementation.

AI is going to be putting more and more people out of work in the next decade but Chomsky doesn't perceive it as a serious problem.

Chomsky, for all his brilliance, is NOT an expert on everything.

Chomsky is in his 90's and hasn't been a force for a couple of decades. Back when Chomsky was still relevant, the man in the box analogy, was the relevant AI technology of the day.

Chomsky is and has always been a Linguist. This is what he taught at MIT and what he became famous for. He, much as Orwell did, but from a more intellectual point of view, has pointed out how language effects politics. That is his expertise.

His involvement with AI had more to do with human cognition issues, which is a topic of discussion among AI researchers, and incidentally, linguists.

Perhaps his most famous political act, was in his discussions with William Buckley on Firing Line. Chomsky was a true intellectual, but Buckley, was mostly bulls#$%. The discussions proceeded along the lines they do today, Chomsky was stating facts and Buckley was just being snitty.

 

No, YOU are the one that keeps interjecting terms like "all Hispanics", and now "all blacks" as well. Are you even able to discuss an issue without interjecting false claims of your own making? I suspect not, because it's what "dividers" do.
