Personally, as a gay man, I have never been all that interested in the 'why' of my orientation, because I knew instinctively that whatever it was, it happened before anyone had much say or control. Whether I 'caused' it, or my parents 'caused' it, or some toxic substance I was exposed to 'caused' it, or my genetic make up did so, or something in utero caused it, or God planned it for me, it happened so early in my memory, that no one could rationally be held accountable r culpable or responsible for this circumstance. I always felt that my orientation was embedded deep inside me and there was no changing or altering it. Nether shame, pride, association, nor isolation ever had any impact in my attractions. I am very lucky to have been so self-aware. So many gay people work incredibly hard to 'train' themselves or teach themselves. While I understand the scientific fascination with discovering which genes or experiences impact orientation, I am not sure it helps gay youth or the broader culture to focus on newest study.

 

We have gone over this myth innumerable times on this forum as Hitler declared himself a Catholic for life and Stalin was given a Christian funeral.

 

No, these people repudiated religion. What they might have said about themselves
is totally irrelevant. Stalin started out as an Orthodox priest and Mao was a Buddhist.
Hitler's mother was Catholic. The world would have been a better place had these
three never got into national or international socialism?
Fact be told the world became a far more brutal place in the 20th Century,
the enlightened century - free of religious hatred.

Frankly, saying that Stalin had a Christian burial, therefor he was a Christian
is the lamest excuse I have ever heard - and I have talked to a lot of lefties
and read a lot on Communism.

I think you confuse unnatural with abnormal. Many things that are abnormal (not normally occuring) are quite natural. Albinoism, Down's Syndrome, left-handedness, high I, just to name a few. Simply because something is considered "bad", it doesn't mean that it is unnatural. Rabies is natural, but generally considered bad. The very fact that it does occur in nature among the animals shows that it is a natural thing. Abnormal=/=unnatural

 

Why wouldn't it be? Not everyone believes in the same Good, nor does everyone ascribe the same purposes and goals to said God.

I am saying that freedom of religion gives people the ability to demand wantever they want because of said religion. Almost everything can be justified by using snippets from religious texts.

 

Most self identified homosexuals engage in sex with both sexes but choose to identify as homosexual. Probably even more self identified heterosexuals attracted to both sexes that choose to identify as heterosexual.
