We saw all through the 2nd half of 2020 where the unrest came from and where crime is still spiking.

 

The social pressure to conform sometimes sucks. It can lead to alot of self sensorship in what we do or say. That is an impetus not to swear in public, not to urinate in the street, not to talk about ones politics, religion, or sexual behavior. We are taught to 'be ourselves' but only until it makes a lot of other people around us uncomfortable. Christians are members of a very large club. The solution for most of us, is either to compromise with society and hide pieces of who we are and what we believe, escape and isolate from society by being loners, or spending time with a smaller, select group of 'accepting' society.

The Christian community has adapted the same tactics for centuries when faced with a majority who's religion or sect, or denomination was different. That's one reason Christian people joined monastery or a cloister.

 

And yet another persecution complex thread. Must be a record.

 

The Victim Mentality must be satiated......never! Squeaky wheel thing.

The Bible says nothing about current domestic political issues in the present time. As to letting it go, when you all let go of Jan. 6 we will begin to let go of the other 500+ events.

No one said you have to listen to it. What’s being said is that you can’t prevent me from expressing it, even if it means that you actually hear and or see it.

That's the evolution progressives are resisting. I grew up when people went to church, worshipped their god and shut the phuk up. They didn't try to force their beliefs on anyone, and anyone that did was viewed as a fanatic crackpot.

Now we have the regressive radical evangelical right that believes their "right" is the only "right" and it's their job to save the rest of us from ourselves and remake the world in the image of THEIR god in the process.

The free expression of religious speech and the free exercise there of of one’s religious beliefs are first rights in the constitution and in no way force our beliefs on anyone. All have freedom of religion to observe including by speech and publicly living out the right to choose any religion or to choose none at all. No one I know or support is challenging that status quo. There is however no such thing as a right to freedom from religion that limits another’s freedom exercise or religious free speech rights. You do not have the right to silence my speech or prevent my free exercise in my personal life out in my public dealings just so that you never have to be exposed to a religious thought or the sight of a person praying, etc. my praying in a public space or putting a Jesus decal on my or saying God loves you is not forcing my beliefs upon you. You are free to walk away or ignore my expression/free exercise. What I do doesn’t compel you in any way. What you seek is to compel my silence outside of my home or the four walls of my church. We will resist that to the point that you will have to take out the entirety of the 1st amendment from absolutely everyone in order to take religious free exercise in our daily lives and religious free speech rights away. Bee will play chicken with you over the survival of the first amendment and the entire constitution itself to protect all rights under it.

 

Very well said, if only you practiced you faih that way. It's clear far right regressive evangelical's are grinding a political ax that forces or will force their beliefs on ALL AmeriCANs.

 

Yet daily you make insulting comments about your philosophical others and use the guise of being Christian as to the reason that enables you to judge others, and of course again an atheists can pick out that hypocrisy.
