Yes, it is and exactly what Republicans want.

BTW, a rape victim forced to gestate and bear her rapist's kid is punished for LIFE.

It is a life altering event which causes PERMANENT damage to women's bodies , physical pain, and mental anguish.

SO the VICTIM would receive a longer, harder sentence than the rapist.....and that's what Republicans seem to want.


A rapist uses FORCE and violence causing physical pain and damage, they like to control and have power over women to make themselves feel better about their pathetic lives ( sound familiar ???)

 

Only ONE person gestates that fetus...it IS NOT EQUAL.

The man has equal right to have an abortion anytime HE is pregnant.


What if the man overrides the woman's wishes and says , "abort!".....then do you think he has "equal rights" ???????

It's about enforcing one view of morality through the criminal justice system. Whether a first trimester or even pre-sixth month abortion is "morally OK" can be argued. "Life begins at conception" "A women has a right to autonomous control of her body" There's just on total consensus on those statements, and there never has been. And that's why abortion was known and not illegal up until the early 20th century when American society began using law to enforce a Christian based moral to control behavior. Prohibition. Blue Laws.

But criminal law was really about two things: One, society will not just let the strongest win; we will not tolerate rule by thuggery. Two, society will not allow revenge killings or self-help in getting stolen stuff back; no Hatfield McCoy ****. It's about control. The Founders would have known why the English loved their public executions .. and while drawing and quartering was no longer used … people knew. It's why some socities cut off hands of thieves. And stoning of adulterers.

But there's no living victim of an abortion …. assuming there's any victim at all.
