Instead of "draining the swamp," he's added to it. He's personally a part of it. His tax cut benefits mostly the wealthy; his efforts to erode existing regulations (designed to protect consumers & average Americans) benefit only the wealthy business owners; his single-minded, one-sided policy of pulling out of every agreement his predecessors signed, is another attempt to boaster profits for the wealthiest business owners & corporate executives. The only thing he's invested in the middle class or poor of the nation is his his continual, obsessive lies, wherein he promises his base he'll do for them what he's really doing for his wealthy friends. But he never will.

They won't "get it" until Trump is discredited as caring about average folks to a significant number of the middle- and lower-middle-class who have been duped into supporting Trump because they have been abandoned by the liberal elite who came to dominate the Democratic Party. Trump is, of course, supported by upper- and upper-middle-class whites who have used the GOP to further individual and corporate interests. Their most notable success is the tax cut; their most significant failure is their inability to get rid of Obamacare.

The carbon tax is unfair to average folks. It isn't "socialist" because it isn't collectivizing production. Again, you have a fubdamental misunderstanding of what constitutes socialism.

A carbon tax is a sort of user tax and isn't even redistributionist, what you mistakenly see as "socialist."

My god, you're clueless. Global warming is real, people protesting the carbon tax know it is, and they object to rich people getting richer while average folks struggle. The carbon tax was the last straw, nothing more.
