Not quite. Science depends on experimentation to prove a hypothesis. Any experiment or observation which does not agree disproves the hypothesis.

 

Where is the NASA TGW (total global warming) page ??

The problem is that the people being called "climate change deniers" are more often than not people who believe in climate change. They just don't buy into the pseudoscience of alarmists.

We've seen the same thing time and again. It's like rape statistics - where the same people try to tell us that rape is as common on college campuses as it is in war-torn Congo. The exaggerations are intended to induce action when the straight facts probably won't.

 

Not relevant to the point. Organizations are competent to make rules, that's what they are for. They are not competent to judge matters of fact.

 

They judge whether those things are safe by testing them. And you put your blind faith in them

Nope. Where is the evidence there for your claim that all papers showing results contrary to AGW screaming were written by political operatives? Of course, there is none, anywhere.

 

It's not blind faith, it's a considered opinion, and I don't always agree with their findings.

 

You trust them blindly. You have no idea how the FAA tests airplanes.... but you get on the plane

No, because your "evidence" was evidence about organizations, mine was evidence about climate. Political operatives run organizations, scientists study climate.

All I'm going to say is that, following your reasoning, it would make sense to conclude that Football is not a competitive sport, Culinary Arts has nothing to do with cooking, and Osama never killed anybody. So the positive side is that, at least, now we can understand why you believe AGW is not real.

But you probably should have taken more than just one week.

Not sure who those "alarmists" are that you refer to. I have only discussed AGW. Which is what has been scientifically proven.

I haven't talked much about the consequences. But there is much reason to be alarmed. We don't know what exactly the consequences of AGW will be. But everything we know seems to indicate that they will probably not be good. We need to prepare. To do that, we need to discuss Climate Change. But we can't really discuss Climate Change while there is still a major political Party that refuses to clearly make their official position that AGW is a fact.

I fail to see the parallel you are trying to make. If there is a rape-problem in college campuses, who care if it's the same as in Congo or not? We just need to solve it! If Climate Change is going to kill millions of people, or thousands of people, or it's just going to displace them because their homes will be flooded... in any of those cases we need to find ways to mitigate it!

A rape-problem can be diagnosed scientifically.. Climate Change too. But we need to focus on that, and not having to spend energy in convincing the thick-headed in government that AGW is real. That stage should have been long past.
