CNN’s John King: Hunter Biden is 'a swamp creature… trading in his family name to make money’

This thread is not about Hunter, it's about a liberal media bad mouthing a Democrat's son. And not just any Democrat, it's the Democratic candidate for president.

 

I don't think anybody is denying Hunter Biden exploited his last name, including Hunter himself. And John King is not exactly a flaming liberal that I'm aware of.

 

Don't care really because this thread is not about a person, it's about a liberal media. This is what I originally posted. I know most folks don't read the OP's opening statement so here it is for you to read.

How refreshing to hear someone with clout like John King from CNN make the claim that Hunder Biden is a "swamp creature." I have renewed respect for CNN.

Yes, trading on his name was all he was up to. Of course, spin-meisters say Burisma wanted to use him to get to Biden/US govt but actually Ukrainian companies were falling all over themselves - in a desire to pivot away from Russia towards the West - to get "big names" on their boards, to boost credibility and trust in the west. And they were willing to pay big money for them.

As for US officials ignoring warning signs that he'd joined a company owned by a corrupt oligarch, their concerns weren't indicative of any wrongdoing on Hunter's part. The problem - and yes, it was awkward - was that Biden senior was in the midst of a full-on anti-corruption drive. They were concerned, as George Kent testified, that "Hunter Biden’s status as board member could create the perception of a conflict of interest". In short, that it wasn't a good look. And Hunter later agreed that taking the position was poor judgement.

The company itself (Burisma) was never under investigation, by the way. The owner, Zlochevsky, was, but for outside activities dating from 2010 to 2012 - before Hunter Biden joined the board.

The $3.5 million transfer - and the rest of that kit and caboodle - is pure Russian, courtesy newly-sanctioned Russian agent Andrii Derkach, and his ilk, all pals with Rudy. And "somehow" it ends up OAN, and in the hands of Grassley and Johnson, who can plausibly claim they didn't get it from foreign agents.

 

Maybe if you would stop pretending it was a direct payment to Hunter it would make more sense.

 

Doesn't anyone here understand? CNN is calling out Biden's son to make it look as though Joe has no part in this. Do you really think they have turned honest overnight?

 

I actually do like CNN, and I'm just glad to see them become a more fair and balanced, thats all.

 

My 12 year old daughter could beat both in a game of Chess, but at least Trump can play Chess.
I think Biden would struggle with a game of checkers vs Hellen Keller.

That's the Johnson report again, which is crap. The claim comes from "Confidential Document 6" about which we know nothing. But given the source, it's crap.

Feel free to prove me wrong, but Republicans are always shoveling BS. This is just the latest big reveal that will turn out to be the usual lies you guys love so much.

You have to have some intellectual wherewithal to seem as stupid as he does so consistently. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day but Trump has whole months when he does nothing intelligent, that takes smarts.

And there is also the fact that he's nucking futs. Quite a lot of things he does are stupid more because they make no sense than because they're bad decisions given the circumstances.

Burisma is an energy company that wanted to make good deals on energy that were quite complicated and substantially involved that country's energy regulators.

Hunter Biden is the son of a man who wrote some of the more complicated energy regulations in the world for about a decade

I don't understand your problem with him being offered this job.
