Well, in this political plutocracy/oligarchy, we the people don't have a choice(until we get the courage to vote for a third party.). That a self-proclaimed billionaire was the "outsider" shows how doomed America's political process is. We're less free than any established hierarchy or monarchy, etc.

The choices weren't great in the last election, but HRC was clearly the less of two evils. Regardless, she is gone now. If only we can come together as a country and resist Trump and look for better options in 2020.

There should be an open and fair primary for the Democrats. There should be a primary for the Republicans to replace Trump as well. Nikki Haley would be a strong option.

And for the love of God, keep Jim Jordan out of the speaker spot.

I want Jim Jordan in the speaker spot. The #resistance to Trump has been largely the problem. This is the worst congress in the history of America, bar none and he called it out. One of them had the guts to call out their disgusting institution for what it is. Maybe with Jim Jordan as speaker, they'll actually advance bills to the Senate. And maybe the Senate, no less for its disgusting performance as well will actually consider doing its job.

Remember how they bragged how Trump wasn't passing much or any major legislation? Well, as Jim pointed out: It has to reach his desk first. The #resistance has far surpassed Republican objections to Obama policies, and now we have a renegade organization that is part of the legislature in name only.

Worst Congress in American History. If Congress were a business organization and not a political one, every single one of them regardless of Republican or Democrat would be fired.

The average percentage of a bill that gets passed is 4% Four....FREAKING....PERCENT. The bastards collect free paychecks, make up drama on TV to keep us interested and go about their precious benefits. This is for both parties.

 

How bad is this Congress? Let's look back at the SOTU Address: Trump gives the Left wing the offer of a life-time: Paid Family Leave. A position so far to the Left that I don't even think it's economically feasible. I'm of the personal opinion that paid family leave, will end up resulting in a shorting in full-time jobs for males(After all, why pay full-time when paid family leave is an added cost-bonus to the employee?) But nevertheless, he left the offer on the table and thus gave the Democrats a HUGE win.

All they had to do was pressure the Republicans and say "This is what Trump wanted", with an adjustment, we might've gotten a substantial bipartisan reform package.

Instead...they ignored Trump's proposal and didn't even start on it. Unfreakingbelievable. Trump couldn't get these losers to move, even if it meant asking for a promise that would divide the conservatives and should have strengthened the Liberal party.

That's how bad this Congress is. That's how unreliable this Congress is. Wake me up when they pass something meaningful that impacts average America. The day they do that, is the day they returned to being for and by the people of America and not themselves.

 

Let's not hear about the MSM not giving this matter adequate coverage. I've heard this tape so many times my eyes glaze over at the mention of it. The endless speculation as to what this means usually concludes with a definitive "WTF!" The more I hear it, the more I feel like it's a big nothing burger. Is it illegal for a lawyer to tape interviews with a client? No. Is it illegal to go public with them? Yes, unless it involves collusion to commit a crime. Work on that one and see what we come up with.

There's more criminal activity bouncing around Trump & Friends than at a ten family mob meeting. This tape is pretty minor in importance. Still, Cohen will probably flip or go to prison. Probably both. He can definitely kiss his law license goodbye. Which is no loss to the BAR.
