Massachusetts and New England have long been the "center of education" in the country, and many students from other parts of the country have traditionally moved across the country to go to colleges there, so this is a significant thing. Nothing new. We've discussed this before on other threads so there is no use in starting another one over old news. Bottom line is many more colleges are closing and that, to me, is a good thing.
The colleges in the Southeast are thriving. Why? more reasonable tuitions and costs of living. The University of Alabama is at near record numbers, and most of those students are from out of state.
