The ongoing investigation by the Trump Justice Department Special Counsel into covert sabotage of a US election by a hostile foreign power, possible complicity in that operation ("treasonous" as one Trump intimate described it,) and criminal activities associated with the caper will not be diverted by fake and/or disparate accusations.

If it were ever to be determined that Comey leaked classified information, that is a matter that has no bearing on the current investigation.

 

First off Comey stated under oath to Congress that he made a point to ensure that there was nothing in those memos that was subject to the laws regarding leaking classified information.

Secondly the content of those memos is now public knowledge that you can see for yourself does not contain anything harmful to the USA.

Thirdly Congress asked Comey to provide the memos thus making them part of the public record.

In addition during Comey's testimony to Congress he deferred questions pertaining to confidential/classified information to closed sessions meaning that he knew the difference and so did Congress.

So the authority in question is Congress itself. Ask yourself why none of the GOP representatives filed charges against Comey for leaking those memos when they would have done so in a heartbeat if there was any basis for doing so.

 

Remains to be seen. We dondont know if the warrant was legal or not. If the dossier was used to get the warrant than the warrant is illegal

Bingo! You are absolutely right! FOIA entails a great deal of power that cannot lightly be pushed aside. On several occasions in my professional life I found that all I had to do was mildly threaten to use FOIA to get information that was being kept from my company, and -- Voilà! Miraculously, the information I needed came forth quickly!

The admission of leaking the memos is problematic given the overall controversy involving leakers undermining the Administration. Indeed, it creates a curious scene of a former director leaking material against the President after the President repeatedly asked him to crack down on leakers.

Besides being subject to Nondisclosure Agreements, Comey falls under federal laws governing the disclosure of classified and nonclassified information. Assuming that the memos were not classified (though it seems odd that it would not be classified even on the confidential level), there is 18 U.S.C. § 641 which makes it a crime to steal, sell, or convey “any record, voucher, money, or thing of value of the United States or of any department or agency thereof.”

There are also ethical and departmental rules against the use of material to damage a former represented person or individual or firm related to prior representation. The FBI website states:

Trump's tax returns are not government property or how government works in the dark. Try again.

 

He was DIRECTOR of the FBI. How should he NOT know that they're not classified? At the very least, it's information that wasn't openly available to the public. And his friend no doubt had NO such clearance to view the information. He knew that, yet he gave it anyway. So yes, there's very clearly intent, as well as lying to Congress(great job there Comey, real swell.)

I'd gladly prosecute Comey, I think I have more than enough.

 

No sorry, I know I saw it but I can’t find it either. May have even been taken down. Found other sites saying they believe it but cannot find the piece that did state the family suspected the DNC for him leaking info of voter fraud.

 

Out of the zillions of political post on FB during the election, the Russian ones were a tiny tiny % that made no difference what so ever. The odds of seeing a legit one would be like finding a rare penny.
