Um well maybe you shouldn't be asking him to?

It's a simple question, that you can answer right here.

Let's change gears: should a person open carrying a firearm have to show an ID and let the cop run a check on the gun's serial number?

Should someone concealed carrying have to produce an ID and concealed carry permit to a cop upon request?

I wouldn't have shown my ID either. Cops have to have a Reasonable, Articulable Suspicion of you having committed or are committing a crime.

    Take a hike.

I love to read all these posts about our "Right" and then watch the same folk stamp their feet to relieve us law abiding folks of all other selective rights ;)

Name a single gun ban I've supported. I'll wait. Go ahead. Try being honest.

What a joke of a post .. .. It is folks who think like you that are the problem .. folks who hate individual liberty and love authoritarianism.

You don’t need to show ID when you visit a doctor, pharmacy, bank, or even when you use a debit card? I do.

Tell you what, I'll be the bigger man and address your posts despite the fact that you have cowered from mine. Maybe then you will be intellectually honest and engage in the conversation.

Lol, buddy, all you've done is change gears because you can't discuss the topic. We'll go ahead and change gears. Will you man up and get back to the topic after we do?

As in just a cop randomly stopping them for no actual reason and demanding that? No.

For just walking down the street? No.

There is no such thing as "the" assault weapons ban. There have been several assault weapons bans (and yes, I even oppose the label "assault weapons"). I've criticized them. In fact, I think that may have even been my very first post on the forums.

Name one assault weapons ban legislation that I've supported. Just one. Go ahead. Come on. You can do it. I have faith in you!

So, if a cop sees a person carrying a firearm, you believe the cop has no right, authority, duty, or obligation to ask that person for an ID, or permit?

Here's the thing: I really don't think that not showing my ID to a cop is sticking it to the man and being some kinda anti-authoritarian. I get enough of that kinda thinking from the kids at school. Heck, any time you're buying something on Amazon or eBay, you're showing credit card ID. Anytime you buy a Famous Star at Carls Jr, you're presenting an ATM card. Or if not you than millions of other people are. I'm saying, you present some kinda ID to someone else ALL THE TIME. Don't go all high-hat on us just because you SAY you wouldn't, you have been for some time - all of us have.

Hey, come on down to my house, I got it right here! I mean, you have to see IT, not a representation on a screen, y'know. Nice try!

You don't support any kind of gun ban? Ok, that's all you had to say.

Really, so if it been a mass shooting or murder. Or are you suggestion stealing a car is not that big a deal.. So why should a officer even be dispatched for something as trivial as auto theft.. Tell us, at what level do you finally justify asking for ID?

I know you don't...lol. Neither do I. I don't think permits should even be required.

When the discussion turned to who has been with hot chicks, I’ve posted pics of me with my ex wife and me with an ex fiancé, the gal who now works for the CA democrat party.

If that cop saw them in the car, then nab them. If they are just walking past it, hell no.

You let cops run over you, they sure will.
