Feds don't confiscate guns from gun owners who suddenly appear in the NICS system. this should change.
We are sitting on a powder keg. Liberals want that scenario where that would happen. How many Snowdens would come out of the woodwork to aid an armed citizenry against a tyrannical government?
Rucker and I were sharing observations; not trying to convince anyone of anything. As I see it, you tried to troll us. If it is all the same to you, I know to fear you and I would appreciate it if you'd give me the opportunity to stay out of your way. We're just discussing. If you're offended, my apologies. Would you like for me to delete my post?
Well, yes, but this should be done by whatever governmental level took away the gun rights, not the feds necessarily.
They might confiscate them, but that doesn't make it "legal". The fact that such is accepted by the American populace is a sad commentary of how crippled our national character has become.
Well, I think you and I have had this conversation before. Just because the courts rule it is legal and the government seizes the power without consequence doesn't make it right, and sooner or later there are American citizens who will decide they won't accept it anymore and they'll start pushing back. Well, I've read history and I've studied the Constitution and the discussions regarding the Bill of Rights. Plain truth: no matter how much you think following proper Constitutional guidelines restraining governmental overreach is not feasible in today's world, the Constitution nevertheless cannot be legitimately ignored.... and no matter how much you and those like you claim otherwise, just because the people accept it does NOT make it right. Is that my opinion? Yep, and it's the opinion of a growing number of American citizens. Sooner or later, the situation will become untenable, and the people WILL push back, and it will get ugly. ... or, it may not, and if it doesn't then we clearly don't deserve to be a free country anymore, and we might as well embrace the oligarchy and tyranny that's coming because we are apparently only too happy being ruled. That is the point where I disappear from the grid and cease to recognize any sovereignty other than my own, and will no longer accept company from those who accept that brave new world. As Samuel Adams said: "If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
Yes we have had this debate before. And you continue to express your point eloquently and intelligently. But I will continue to disagree. Freedom to die is no freedom. But I do not hope to change your mind....just express my own.
As in the Movie: Soylent Green, People would go to Government run centers and help you to exit life, whilst watching your favorite pastoral scenes, on wide angle movie screens. Like that idea better ?
Such is of no relevance. It is their life, therefore it is their decision to make, not that of yourself or anyone else.
It is their life, therefore it is their decision to make. If they no longer wish to continue living, it is not the business of anyone else to decide that their decision is incorrect.
Right? If that were true, wouldnt that mean all press made after 1787 didnt have 1st amendment protection? Bye cnn. What about the mormons? What about words? Pandoras box type argument. Or simply desperation.
