These vile and violent attacks on a high school kid who experienced a massacre at his school will backfire on the Repugs at the voting booth.

 

Nobody is using him. That is RW propaganda. It says a lot (that isn't good) about critical thinking skills when one sees everything they don't like as some kind of conspiracy.

He did not throw out "rape with a hot poker"....

 

He has no power, only the power of his voice. The president has real power: he can send people off to be killed; he can make laws that have endless and serious consequences. Hogg is just one of us: a private citizen exercising his right to free speech. He is not calling for anyone to be physically harmed, BTW, while RWrs are calling in various instances for him to be physically harmed. This is just one of other examples of RWrs calling for him to be harmed.

 

It's not 'demonstrably not true.' What you believe is PROPAGANDA. It is propaganda used to incite anger against him. And look at the results--various people calling for him to be harmed or killed. Really: why can't RWrs recognize when they are being manipulated by propaganda?

I am not insulting anyone. I am saying the truth: the stuff about Hogg is nothing but propaganda with the aim of getting him to shut up. If it keeps up like this, he will have to go into hiding or truly risk death. That's what the propagandists want. They are so afraid of someone who has a righteous position from which to speak. Just because his voice may be influential, that does not mean he has any real power, and it doesn't mean he is being used by anyone.

And anyone who is manipulated by propaganda has weak critical thinking skills: that's not a personal insult--it is a statement of fact. That's what critical thinking skills are all about: not being intellectually weak enough to be manipulated by propaganda.
