Cops Arrest 2 Black Men Sitting In Starbucks For ‘Trespassing’: Video

You're making some assumptions. Why do your assume that the didn't plan to buy anything?

They were waiting for a friend to show up, and he did show while the cops were talking to the two black guys. The friend was white, so he was naturally not arrested. He tried to find out why the cops were harassing his friends, but they seem to have given no satisfactory response. The district attorney confirmed that they had committed no crime, and they were released. I think the two men have good grounds for a lawsuit. If the cops had arrested all three men, the event might have seemed less racist.

I watched the one of the two videos of the arrest that I found online, but much of the audio was inaudible, so I could only catch part of what was said.

 

the da let them off, no different then if a cop pulls you over for speeding and gives you a warning, doesn't mean you were not speeding

I can guarantee you the store manager will be **** canned after a good interval. the legal definition of trespassing requires injury or loss and that has not been shown.

now, were they targeted due to their race and attire? its very possible.

if they were wearing suits would they have been asked to leave? very possibly no.

does store manager have the right to target them and ask them to leave simply due to their race? no.

Nope, you're just grasping at straws and trying waaaay too hard. I point out when injustices against black happen, not when any and everything happens against blacks. Injustices against blacks even being mentioned is what you have a beef with, that's why you never point them out. Your defense is always to go find what you deem an equivalent injustice (and it never is) of someone white to justify what happened to someone black .

Assuming the police responding to the business asked them to leave and they did not, I do not see a problem with this.

Perhaps a more pertinent question is how often do police, in these type of situations, come straight in and arrest the customer without giving the customer a second warning, because the employees claimed the customer had earlier refused to leave?

this could of just as easily happened to these two if they were white and refused to buy anything and refused to leave

That Twitter post isn't about the cops. Try using comprehension that a liberal teacher (since your ilk claims is dominated by liberals) taught you. It is about the fact that an employee deemed it necessary to call the cops in the first place.

There are two kinds of blacks that don't exist to you: successful and innocent.

 

The cops didn't let anything slide. It was the district attorney who said there was no evidence that the two men had committed any crime. The cops arrested the two black men, but not their white friend or any of the white customers who tried to intervene. The men were released at 2 am. Starbucks issued an apology. The two men did nothing illegal.

The men almost certainly have grounds for a lawsuit against the police for false arrest and probably for a lawsuit against Starbucks as well.

 

The district attorney does not agree with you. The district attorney said there was no evidence of a crime.

 

RonStar argued that people don't come to these places to just hang out and socialize, that's exactly what people do at Starbucks. Only a dolt would suggest otherwise .

 

what if the manager refuses to leave.. it would be trespassing, duh, course cause he is white, some here would not defend him if arrested - cause the reality is, there is no defense, if asked to leave or buy something.. leave or buy something.. that simple
