I’ve been thinking a lot the last few days about all this. I’ll just take this opportunity to throw out a rhetorical question.

At what point do we begin to question whether some of these gross examples of incompetence are really incompetence?

Ahh, don't go there. There are already to many conspiracy theorists here.

    I don't think it's even incompetence.
I think it's lack of leadership.
Everyone knew it would be a challenge to distribute this vaccine, but no one was willing to step up and take responsibility to get the job done.
So like everything Trump they just passed it downhill.
That's why I like what Biden is saying. "I will get the vaccine in peoples arms."
Now he may fail at this, but it won't be because he didn't try.

West Virginia seems to be doing quite well without Federal interference. If California isn’t willing to accept it’s responsibilities they can ask for Biden’s help I guess. It stinks I’ll have to subsidize California’s irresponsible behavior if the Fed does do their job for them.

I just hope he doesn’t try and “help” states that do care about their own citizens enough to take responsibility.

Then we must have a clone in Boris, because we have the same litany of errors here in the UK

Yep. If Alabama wants help from Uncle Sam they can moan about it just like CA. Federalism is great. It means you don’t have to live in places where government is incompetent. Do away with federalism and we’d all be be subjected to what those in Alabama and CA are going through. :)

Well, the mop haired buffoon and his minions have been proudly claiming that more people have been jabbed in the UK than the rest of Europe put together and over a quarter of the over 80s have had their first dose so I'm not sure it's quite fair to compare him to the combover seditionist.
Who knows, you can't trust a word that comes out of either of their pieholes.

I just LOVE your descriptions. :)
And don't forget that we had the vaccine a good month before everyone else. Thanks to Oxford scientists.

True, my mum got her first a week before Christmas.
Bo-Jo has the advantage of not concentrating all his efforts on overturning an election too. Makes you wonder how well the US would compare if they'd had a proper president all this time.

"sensible" makes so much sense. ;-) It should be the new vogue.

He seems organized too. ( a genuine plus )

(He has handled this messy "transition" with dignity and professionalism. .......

    What a contrast. ;-)

The world passed 2 million coronavirus deaths on Friday, a stunning toll that is continuing to rise as more contagious variants of the virus take hold.
President-Elect Biden made some speech on the vaccine for COVID-19. There isn't much he can do but you can bet He'll get things going.

And he won't be calling it a hoax or childishly refusing to wear a mask. He is listening to the scientists. ( what a concept) ;-)

You have to wonder how long the Coronavirus is going to be with us. You have to wonder how much longer it's going to be here and keep doing the things we've been doing to try to avoid it. Trump really didn't do much about it. After he said that he'd never get it and soon enough he tested positive for it. You look at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and they tested negative and did the right things like many of us did. It will be a while before many of us get the vaccine and have it available for us all. Many of us will survive and that is something I pray for. Thank you.

You got that right. He tested negative and Trump tested Positive and spent the night or two in the hospital.

All the fake news stories about reactions to the vaccine now being generated don't help. I'd link to some but I don't want to give them any publicity.
Honestly, I despair at times. There's even one story going around that the first person to receive the vaccine in the UK was a ''crisis actor'' and the real person with her name died in 2008.
All on obscure blogs or on sites known for spreading lies.
Never mind Trump, it's these kinds of people who need taking off the internet. At least Trump's lies get challenged. This garbage only shows up if you go looking for it.

Biden knows he does the right thing for us while Trump tries to get us to believe in the fairytale fantasyland of wishful thinking,

When Biden takes office January 20, He probably will mandate wearing the masks, distance six feet, wash hands 20 seconds, hand sanitizer often and in public federal buildings for 100 days until probably May 30, 2021. Maybe I'm right or wrong. If any of you know the correct date, Let me know. Thank you.
There will still be Republicans in the house and senate as well as Governors and they may be loyal to Trump and go by his rules if you know what I mean. The Democrats are the majority and the Majority rules. Simple as that.

He should mandate that anyone in public federal buildings wear masks. Many of Republicans at the Capitol building refused to wear a mask

Trump had the same rule at the WH, which everyone but him had to obey
