More than 800,000 people in America have now died since the pandemic started, more than in any other country

At least 800,156 confirmed deaths in the United States have been traced to the coronavirus as of Monday, according to a rolling tally by NBC News. That's more than the populations of Boston, Washington, D.C., or Seattle. Almost two years into the pandemic, one doctor said he expects the country's death toll to reach 1 million at some point in 2022.

In Denmark 16.1% of the population is unvaccinated so based on this the vaccinated are catching it at a higher rate

 

How many of those cases are in people who have flown in? You are going to need to remove them from your 2471 cases. Only vaccinated people can fly in.

It seems the predictions are correct. The new variant kills a smaller % of the infected, but when a greater number of people are infected, the total death toll can be high.

Example:
5% of 500 000 = 25 000
3% of 1 000 000 = 30 000

I've been doing some more digging into this question about natural immunity versus vaccines ability to avoid getting covid, either symptomatic or not and various people have spoken about an Israeli study. I think this was the one...

Conclusions This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. Individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.

Of course, as we've all agreed, the idea of getting covid as a way of avoiding getting covid seems a bit like playing Ruski roulette.

The natural immune protection that develops after a SARS-CoV-2 infection offers considerably more of a shield against the Delta variant of the pandemic coronavirus than two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to a large Israeli study that some scientists wish came with a “Don’t try this at home” label.

CONCLUSION
Substantial immune memory is generated after COVID-19, involving all four major types of immune memory. About 95% of subjects retained immune memory at ~6 months after infection. Circulating antibody titers were not predictive of T cell memory. Thus, simple serological tests for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies do not reflect the richness and durability of immune memory to SARS-CoV-2. This work expands our understanding of immune memory in humans. These results have implications for protective immunity against SARS-CoV-2 and recurrent COVID-19.

So I don't think there's much doubt that natural immunity does give at least the same level or better protection.

And so, scientifically, if someone could provide a blood sample showing they've got a certain level of antibodies, appropriate T-cells AND B-cells, (which they'd have to pay for, obviously), which brings me to the question that will be answered today; maybe someone like Djokovic could be allowed to playif the country agrees to it.
