They're in line with numbers of countries who have relative control over the virus? Exactly my point. And yes, NY/Washington/California need to be walled off FAST. Frankly, those state governors should have walled off themselves sooner(big bad Trump doesn't control state government.)

Of course, to a large degree it's too late but if you isolate those states, the numbers go VASTLY down in the US.

Bacteria and viruses are pretty small too, but they can have a huge effect - humans have an effect on the environment because we are many and doing the same thing over and over for long periods of time can have a huge effect

You actually predicted we would only have 15,000 infected people? Yeah, you might want to read up on how pandemics happen. In 1980, there were a handful of AIDS patients. It's killed 30 million people.

What do you think is more likely? That you're wrong or what Dr. Fauci says is ridiculous? And if Fauci is being ridiculous and talking out his ass, why is Trump letting him do it?

Really, now. These aren't hard questions to answer.

Harsh to says, but there is reasons if today I refuse to define myself as "right winged", "left winged" or to any parti, herd mentality aren't where reason reign.

And the effect of cars, factories, etc other than having the effect of water contamination(which is pretty serious on its own, don't get me wrong.) hasn't really been demonstrated to effect the earth's climate. We just *think* that, and the reason we *think* that, is again it's something we can "control"(note: We don't directly address the earth's climate itself, because, again, we can't control it.)

Bacteria and viruses only have the effect their RNA/proteins afford them. Other than that, they're not livable organisms. Once we develop this vaccine and develop herd immunity, this moment in history will pass us over.

AIDS/HIV are sexually transmitted diseases. It's not at all like the bacterial virus that we're dealing with. That comparison is just utterly inaccurate as to be not worth the time to deal with that any longer. Probability is based upon several things, but the thing you look at especially is the linear growth and you project from there.

Let's give another example: To reach 10,000, we'll need another 7K affected. Get it now? Even if NY/California reach 1K by themselves(which will be double the cases), we'll still be substantially short.

The math does not come anywhere close to these "projections" out of Farci, and he should explain himself.

If this is already in my apologies. Today Italy reported 368 deaths - that is more than any day in Wuhan. There is concern this will be the UK in two weeks.

    The what?

You conservatives have been wrong about this thing at every turn. Why should you stop being wrong now? This post of yours too will look utterly ridiculous in about two weeks time.

My wife saw, on Facebook, a post that went something like this:

Q: We are all going to die; but how, precisely?

A: From the coronavirus, of course.

Q: Well, what is the best way to combat its deadly effects?

A: Simply buy more toilet paper.

The coronavirus is bacterial. Basic science tells you that, hell why do you think they're telling us to wash our hands? It's not my fault that Liberals are scientifically challenged.

The data is coming in fast, so the swings should stabilize, but, right now figure 2-14 days with a median of 3-5.

This site updates world data daily and makes it easy to navigate.

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-incubation-period/

Not sure about the "re-infection" issue, hopefully it's not real and that recovered folks are immune.

Italy, which is getting hammered and meeting this with the resilience we expect from the undaunted Italians, are opening their windows while in quarantine and filling their streets with songs as they encourage one another. Their front line healthcare workers with mild infections are staying in the fight carrying on the care of the badly infected, while their uninfected care for the uninfected.

We have a nation of amazing individuals throwing themselves into this fight, my plan is to follow their sensible instructions and support them in every way we can.

We have different heroes for every fight. In this one it's our front line healthcare workers.

Disagree and we would not have oxygen levels we have today if not for bacteria, when tiny things do small things over and over and over for long periods of time, they can have a huge effect

"TIL: 20% of Our Oxygen Comes From a Bacteria"

"The Origin of Oxygen in Earth's Atmosphere"

    https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/origin-of-oxygen-in-atmosphere/

"The answer is tiny organisms known as cyanobacteria, or blue-green algae. These microbes conduct photosynthesis: using sunshine, water and carbon dioxide to produce carbohydrates and, yes, oxygen. In fact, all the plants on Earth incorporate symbiotic cyanobacteria (known as chloroplasts) to do their photosynthesis for them down to this day."

how could those tiny things have such a huge effect on our atmosphere? they do the same thing over and over and over for long periods of time

Someone on Facebook replied to a local friend how crazy it was in her town, that there was no food left at walmart and people were stealing food out of other's carts. My son lives in the same town as her and was at that very walmart today and said that was completely false. Lots of food, no panicked crowds and no one was stealing from others. Why must some lie to make things seem worse than they are.

They do. It just isn't normally serious enough to get public attention.

80,000 dead a couple seasons ago. 18,000 dead this most recent season. How does your ranking work?

This has only started. If we do nothing, projections show we could have 1.5 million dead. And it could be worse than that. It also means a large percentage of the work force taken out of commission for up to two months. This has a very long recovery period. And we could have 60 million people in hospital beds.
