they even make cell phones now so you can't change the battery, why, so you have to buy them again when the battery wears out - corps want stuff to be disposable

 

The elites do not care. They are ok with the American people suffering via globalism. Their kids and families are untouched by it. They have and will continue to let in the third world and outsource jobs. My family has been paying taxes here since this country was founded in addition to fighting in every war. I hate saying this but you can't get a Maytag made in Newton, Iowa, anymore, nor made in Illinois or Tennessee. Their appliances always were more, but they were very, very reliable. Maytag began to fail in 1997 due to bad engineering designs to compete on price, and bad management. Then the takeover artists plagued them, and Whirlpool took them out in 2006, and the Newton plant immediately was closed with loss of 4000 jobs. Whirlpool is controlled by Haier of China.

Our 1995 Maytag washer lasted 25 years with no problems at all, but the cost of repair parts was really high now, and soon there will be no parts for the old ones. The thing weighed a ton. The snubber system for the spin cycle failed. A friend who does appliance repair took it for parts.

My grandmother's 1937 Maytag wringer washer is probably still running somewhere. I don't know what happened to it after my uncle's wife died in 1979, but she used it until then. That machine did require your full attention when using the wringer, and you had to keep kids away from it. But it beat using the old washboard.

Yep and mainly because both the Communist Chinese and WHO lied about the infectious nature of the virus and so forth, and so by the time that Trump knew to do anything, returning travelers were already inside the United States. I keep telling you that if you listen to leftist only news outlets you are only ever going to end up with -- at best -- fifty percent of the actual information.

 

I would be elated if the Mexican Army secured their northern border and let nobody pass in or out. But it would take half of their army to do it. That's a big commitment.
