Court: Holland responsible for 1995 Srebrenica deaths

An appeals court in the Hague has ruled that the government of Holland was partially liable in 1995 deaths of about 300 Muslim men killed in Srebrenica when Dutch peacekeepers serving with the United Nations turned them over to Bosnian Serbs instead of letting them remain on the UN base.

The appeals court upheld a 2014 Hague district-court ruling in a suit by the victims' relatives against the Dutch government.

My comment as someone who served in Bosnia as blue helmet needs to be censored, because everything but no friendly reaction towards the court!

These judges should be send to a current conflict as soldier with same arms as what the Dutch had and were allowed only to have to defend Srebrenica and then being faced with same way armed attackers then!
Will be interesting how they will fight off tanks and artillery with, Jeeps, trucks, assault rifles and machine guns...
And then the judges should cry for immediately help and Air support towards next NATO Air base with same reaction that 12 hours later a single F-16 made a reconnaissance patrol when everything is over!

And then they should be sentenced same way guilty by a committee of Dutch Ex-Soldiers who served there!

From what I gather the Dutch soldiers on the ground were dumped in a suicide situation, outnumbered, lightly armed and abandoned by their own government, as air strikes were cancelled because they were worried friendlies would be hit.. problem is because they didn't strike... friendlies were killed anyway.

Clearly the Dutch government thought just being there would stop the Serbs, they were naive and ignorant, yes I think the Dutch government (not the soldiers on the ground) is to blame at least partially for not providing ample support for their soldiers, in effect causing the Bosnians to be disarmed and not able to defend themselves... cattle herded to the slaughter.
