It does seem pretty deliberate. And also apt. The most common meanings of this rune before and still after the Nazi's tried to corrupt it for their own use are:
'very dear to everyone'
'if there in their home they may enjoy'
'what is right and proper most often in prosperity'
'heritage; inheritance, inherited estate'

In my reconing, this rune is the old norse equivalent to the cliche'd refrigerator magnet 'home is where the heart is',

In the same way that many Christians refuse to recognize the 'rainbow' as a symbol of LGBT because first it was a symbol that God would never again destroy the world with flood. Or how Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism still use the swastika as a symbol for divinity, spirituality and protection despite the Nazi's having twisted it, so to does the 'odal' still have meaning to peoples unaffiliated with SS racial purity.

This is just another of uncountable examples of certain elitist control freaks thinking they get to define language for everyone else. No, they don't. Symbols mean different things to different people, and all but the most closed of minds are able to recognize that.

That stage was not done like that on accident as there is no reason for the design that I can see. I am also not a stage designer so there may have been one.

I can only speculate. My speculation is that the organizers are no more intellectually genuine than their leftist counterparts and thus would rather change their story on a whim than try to engage in meaningful, honest debate. This is American politics, after all.
