Nothing you do will stop a virus from spreading. It's going to spread and kill people.

We have over 331 million people and only 500,000 people (according to false data) has died from the virus. A virus with a 99% survival rate.

It's not the end of the world as the left wanted everyone to believe to hurt Trump.

 

OK, let me remind you of the real world:

In 2013 under Obama and with a Dem majority in the Senate and a Republican majority in the House, Obama pushed for committees to work on immigration on both sides.

Those committees had the proper balance of partisan membership, with Rubio, McCain and other Republicans on the Senate committee with Democratic leadershipwhile the House side had their normal division, which put Republicans in leadership position there.

They designed an immigration reform bill that addressed:
- $40B for the southern border
- a fix to employment verification
- a requirement (with funds for enforcement) of use of that verification method for all employment.
- tightening our visa program (which is how HALF those coming here to stay actually arrive - NOT by crossing any border illegally)
- a solution for those who arrived as minors and had no choice in the matter
- a solution for farm and other labor that needs programs for legal labor working at wages that don't allow for reasonable life support in America.

That bill passed the Democratic Senate with support from Republicans, including Rubio, McCain and others.

It would have passed the house had Republican speaker Boehner not blocked in from coming to a vote!



Neither Trump nor ANY OTHER REPUBLICAN has come anywhere CLOSE to that bill in terms of actually addressing the full problem.

Nor have Republicans worked to create ANY bipartisan solution on ANY immigration related issue.


Do not bring up immigration if you plan on trying to defend Republican fecklessness on that topic.

The opinion of epidemiological analysts and other investigators is that the 500,000 is a significant UNDERCOUNT.

There are several reasons. One is that test kits were in seriously short supply. Another is that morgues don't do testing. So, when people die at home the cause of death was not determined. There were others.

Also, the number of excess deaths in the US spiked high without there being ANY other justification for a higher number of deaths last year.

Science can answer these questions.

And, your comment about Biden is just plain nutty. He had no position in government at any level last year. And, he has been very clear about his support for a science based approach - which is something Trump worked to PREVENT.

 

Obama sued the AZ state government for trying to help ice stop and deport illegal immigrants.

He released families with kids into America and told dreamers they could vote.

Obama chose criminals over Americans. 1 Bill does not change his pathetic agenda.

 

First, you should learn how to spell the party name before referencing it. Claiming you know something when you don't even know how to spell it just looks weak.

The progress we need has nothing to do with having ice deport those they find. That can not POSSIBLY make any significant reduction in the number of undocumented aliens in the USA.

What we need is a comprehensive reworking of immigration - a plan that actually does result in fewer arriving, does make full use of those who are here, does take into account of the needs of certain industries, etc.

The bill of 2013 would have been a total sea change in immigration throughout the USA.

I'd point out that CPAC has exercised their "cancel culture" powers in stripping the speaking lists.

And, ending speech that incites insurrection or promotes the violence of white supremacist terrorists is something that SHOULD be done. There is NO reason to tolerate that.

Yes, there definitely are too many who are food insecure in America. Plus, the debt piled up by those whose evictions have been postponed hits me as a hole that these people may never be able to dig themselves out of regardless of their efforts. One year of catastrophe and for many there will be no way out for life.

Plus, an eviction record sticks with an individual for life. Thus future ability to rent is being seriously damaged for large numbers of working Americans.

I think the aid bill will help, but it's going to take more than that. Maybe not more direct aid dollars, but maybe other features. For example, I believe it should no longer be the case that evictions follow someone for LIFE. That's not the American way. We believe someone can be down and out, yet work their way up. Also, I'd say this is an important time for some significant work on our infrastructure. Even before the Texas fiasco we knew that our nation wide (and local) grid system needs serious work. There are roads and bridges in serious need of repair. Etc.

Seattle's $15 minimum wage has slowed down nothing here. In fact, it helps the economy in that those with low incomes actually have some money to spend. That HELPS jobs.

At the current national $7.50 minimum wage, one can't even live.

And, remember that Republicans were adamantly opposed to the $7.50, claiming THAT would destroy jobs!! There is no minimum wage so low that Republicans wouldn't fight for it to be lower.

The need for BLM started with the slave trade, continued through the civil war and is still with us, as there is still ample reason for BLM to be REQUIRED.

You completely missed what BLM is about. The bottom line is that there can not be peace without justice.
