In reality one does not need guns at all......not on a personal level.

Most if not all.........owners WANT to own guns and justify this ownership ..with the "right to self protection" theme.........that is over used , abused and hardly relevant now.

There is something really rancid in this country where guns are more important than the lives of others and especially children.

How many would be willing to give up their weapons in order to prevent another mass slaughter of 8 yr olds?? or are these insane shootings now simply part of daily, weekly , routine ,,with folks buying even more guns..........to "protect" themselves.

Why on earth should anyone living in a free nation need that much protection?? .........This culture of violence is insane and is ruing the nation to it's core..

One cannot (with a straight face) say that this country is a 'safe" country..........and by not being safe is is not free.

One does not need t kill animals for sport.........or food. That is just an excuse. to own a gun. a gun seems to offer psychological power to the owner.

Perhaps it is time to re evaluate whether one really NEEDS a weapon.............or thinks/believes he does / or wants one for some kind of false psychological security. This mass shootings phenomenon is out of control.

Just because it is a "right"..........does not mean one has to follow the herd ..........but it is far too late as any effective change would create an uproar and revolt and politicians don't want to do that........(as their mode is totally self preservation)

One has to qualify for the "right' to drive a car...........but not for buying, owning a lethal weapon. ............Insanity.........and the mass shootings re the product of this system/ cultural , systemic insanity. An insanity that GLORIFIES GUN CULTURE...

Given that the county is prone to such excesses, and extremes........... things won't change anytime soon............and most have gotten used to living with this degree of violence ..........and gun culture. The pandemic of mass shootings is one small price to pay for "gun ownership rights" in a culture that is run by the NRA. .....The NRA is now controlling elections, policy........and this country has become more violent than many third world countries.

It can no longer be rated as a "safe" nation to travel in.

Where are the "pro lifers " in this situation?? Or do they just "care" about the embryo? A society of gross contradictions and ambiguities. that is addicted to violence...be be it on the big screen ,, small screen or real life.. Fantasy and reality have merged. in a very destructive way.
