I agree with POTUS Trump. The executive branch has the right to choose who it gives a clearance to, and who it doesn't. And there's nothing the representative from Maryland can do about it.

I am fairly certain that Obama's experience placed him roughly in the middle of the pack and light years of the guy who became president without ever serving in the military or political office.

Multiple reports have surfaced to indicate that Trump personally ordered senior officials to place pressure on career officials who recommended that Kushner and Ivanaka not receive security clearance due to their numerous red flags. And once that pressure resulted in denials of action, Trump ordered their clearances.

And then they all lied about it in public.

When did Obama override a security clearance recommendation and then lied about it publicly?

CNN is reporting tonight that Ivanka got that same personal treatment from daddy.

And no, he didnt grab her ***** because "they let you do it."

He ordered senior staff to put pressure on the career officials that grant security clearance to change their recommendations that Ivanka should be denied due to her many red flags. They refused. And then Trump ordered that she receive the clearance.

And then, they all lied about it for more than years.

No one in the Trump administration has publicly admitted that Ivanka and Kushner received security clearances by order from Trump and against the recommendations from multiple officials that they should not receive their clearances due to multiple red flags.

Of course he is far ahead of Trump who was a complete outsider, this is not a competition. I was merely pointing out that as a 3 year junior senator he had practically no experience. Hadn't even served a term.

Would I recommend it? No. Is it 'worth investigating'? Not really. If the congressional branch wants control over security clearances, it should LEGISLATE(what a stunning concept) over it.

With the House as 'busy' as it is, the Senate can take a nap lol.

I said nothing of the sort. All I did was point out the error in his comment and you're putting all these words in my mouth all of a sudden.

For the record, Obama was preferable to McCain.

These "career experts" did not stand before the People and ask for their vote, The president did.
You are badly confused. You think representative democracy is dictatorship, but unelected "career officials" overruling the President isn't?

The 'career officials' are too selfish, too self-opinionated, and they want to feel as though they matter. If you break all of the 'resistance' down to it, that's what it's about. From HRC's "take our government back", to this stupid House Investigation.

The need to feel important. Unfortunately, when a government is infested with such selfish individuals it can hardly last.

Must be interesting acting as an apologist for a man who was born a congenital liar, a cheater, a crook, a narcissist among others who is obviously unworthy of being President. Obama was not even close to have done anything that was an impeachable offense and even if he was, then why didn't the republicans, who controlled both houses of congress at the time, do anything about it? Could it have been because Obama did nothing that could have been proved impeachable?? The republicans have gotten their panties twisted in a knot because they realize that Trump was a huge mistake and are now trying to save face. That cannot be denied.

Well, that's up to us. And we have generally proven to be stronger and more resilient than expected. And of course, Trump's doing a great job.

WELL, IT’S HARD TO CALL TRUMP CRAZY WHEN YOU’RE ACTING CRAZIER: The Green New Deal and ‘Socialist’ Democrats Are Normalizing Trump.

Why would the White House cooperate? They don't have to cooperate. The oversight committee doesn't issue clearances. They don't have authority or oversight over the White House.

I don't think this is impeachable(for either President.) Giving a security clearance is very similar to the Acosta pass situation. It's the purview of the administration on who it's going to allow to have access. Now, there's these certain positions and people who give their advice, but at the end of the day, it's the President's call.

Now, if Cummings is upset about that, instead of a stupid subponea, he and his group of lemmings can try legislating it. However, don't bet on it. Complaining's easier.

Can you tell me about any comparable times that Obama did not cooperate?

    Too many investigations.
And some such as private tax returns really is not about the nation.
At this point I would  to see the WH just stall.
Stall. Delay. Ask for an extension and let Congress plead its' case to the Supreme Court.
Congress has not been behaving in a responsible manner.
This is not Watergate. Nor the cover up.
    This is just being "hissy".

Except that Acosta isn't given top security information; only what other journalists are given by the white house. There is a difference you know. Cummings isn't upset just over that, but I think that Cohen's testimony has opened the door to a lot of possible illegal actions that the president either directly participated in or had knowledge of and approved. subpoena is the smart way to go in this case since the Trump loyalists in the senate will do everything to stall and stop it from happening. Only time will tell but the games afoot.
