As we all know, Donald Trump pulled out the race card and threw it into the weekend news cycle;this time directed at Elijah Cummings.

The corporate media has rushed off to talk about bigotry, and the right wing noise machine has been doing its usual umbrage act, while Trump continues to fan the flames.

Indeed, part of the right wing noise is the assertion that Cummings started it.

They’re partially right. Trump did start the race baiting.

But that was both a Trumpian trademark, and an attempt to get people to look the other way.

If you want to see what Trump doesn’t want you to talk about, consider this:

'I did meet with Putin': Dem report highlights Flynn exchange after 2015 trip“

Contrary to assertion taht Flynn made publicly at the time, and possibly in his testimony, Flynn was involved in an elaborate scheme with incoming Trump Administration officials to hand nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia, for its part, made no bones about their intention to use this technology to build a bomb.

Moreover, much of the correspondence seems to have been conducted by White House officials on private and third party e-mail accounts.

Not only is this against the law, it’s the exact same thing that the right wing noise machine accused Hillary Clinton of doing.

So there is an optics problem, and ethics problem, a judgement problem (since when did nuclear proliferation become US policy?).

And now the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is getting ready to subpoena the records of Trump White House officials.

So, it’s necessary to get folks to look the other way.

If you want people to take your threads seriously, don't start them with laughable partisan nonsense like this. I stopped reading right there.

Yeah right, Trump is as corrupt as they come. His new lie, that he helped during 9/11, , seriously, Trump supporters keep swallowing the bait.

Facts don't care about your feelings.

"I was down there also, but I'm not considering myself a first responder," Trump said. "But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you."

Left wing media, 'it's a lie'.

Facts don't care about your feelings.

Flynn didn’t join the trump campaign for months after he returned from the RT Gala, which included liberal presidential candidates like Jill Stein.

The Middle East Marshall Plan, is publicly known since June. You can read the details on line

    You mean this?

"I was down there also, but I'm not considering myself a first responder," Trump said. "But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you."

    K,

the fact that almost everyone commenting seems to be glossing over the fact that Trump wants to give the SA Govt Nuclear Secrets to build a Bomb, in favor of silly partisan politics is absolutely terrifying to me.

I mean, yeah, deal with your own internal stuff as you will, but to ignore the insanity of giving SA the bomb in favor of it shows that the US is clearly going over the edge.

This is one of the most barbaric rich countries on the planet, and you want to give them one of the most destructive powers on the planet? WTF is wrong with you?

When I say this is the dumbest thing Trump has done so far, please be advised that's a moving timeline. The operative words are "so far."

No, you need to do some reading.

Nothing you have said so far has had a thing to do with the subject of this thread.

We are not talking about your breathless anticipation of a GOP counter investigation.

We are talking about the way Trump used race baiting to distract from the fact that it appears taht the Trump White House was doing exactly what Trump made a big deal of accusing Hillary Clinton of doing.

And his team did it in pursuit of a reckless and irresponsible scheme to hand nuclear technology to Middle Eastern countries in defiance of long standing US policy.

We are talking about technology that Saudi Prince Muhammad Bin Salman specifically said he would use to develop nuclear weapons.

What’s even worse, is that this is one of the first thing this band of clowns started working on.

Flynn was involved in the crackpot nuclear Middle East scheme almost the day after the election (if not before). Eric Prince is also in the mix somehow. But I can’t recall exactly how.

This is NOT a new story. Indeed, vague reports of this scheme did surface about the time Trump was forced to remove Flynn.

You're the guy who continues to tell us that Iran having the technology is no big deal and that they, of course, would never develop a bomb, and yet here you are stating exactly that fear vis a vis Saudi. Of course you have double standards. :roflol:

So, in your mind, nuclear hegemony in Iran is preferable? Why is that? Do you really hate the Israelis that much?

Yes, that is the trip in which Flynn lied and said his conversations with the Russians were only small talk and formalities. The Committee learned last week that he had lied and had met with Putin.

I have no idea what Flynn’s relationship with the campaign was at that point. He had certainly not been named National Security Advisor designate at that point.

Of course, like the Russians, many key players in the Trump/Russia scandal were not on the official Trump campaign payroll. Goldstone, the guy who talked to Don Jr about the meeting, and Roger Stone were not, for instance.

And the scheme was obviously concealed for a long time. Which is why Trump officials tried to keep it off the record by using third party servers. They didn’t want people to know what they were doing, and especially not experience intelligence, non proliferation, or Middle East expert
This was their hair brained scheme.

And now that it’s getting more scrutiny, and the way the Trump people used the private email dodge to try and hide it is as well, Trump needs a bloody shirt to wave to get the rubes and the hand wringers looking the other way.

it worked on the Trumpsters. Race baiting is always a sure fire sell for the Trump base.

And, as this thread shows, they’re not likely to read the rest of the story, once they’ve been handed their piece of red meat.

Well, since Trump unilaterally repudiated an international settlement that they were obeying not to do so, it is a concern again.

    But that’s Trump’s doing.
