Irresponsible, entitled people... from fatherless families.

There's the root cause there - and it goes back decades.

The government attack on the nuclear family was intentional. It doesn't take a PHD to understand that fatherless homes are going to be disproportionately disadvantaged and dysfunctional compared to intact families.

Why do you think Karl Marx and other leftist philosophers have called for the abolition of the family.

Saw a documentary a few years ago about a nature preserve in Africa that was having a rash of elephant attacks on safari vehicles and tourists, as well as random attacking and killing of rhinoceros.

What the preserve managers discovered was that all of the adult male elephants had been relocated to another area as part of a breeding program to increase the elephant population in that area.

Once the adult males were gone, all of the teenaged males left behind had no authority figures to keep them in line. They went into premature musth, began trying to breed with the females, and went on testosterone fueled vandalism and murder sprees resulting in the dead rhinos and damage to anything in their path.

It's no different with humans. No fathers around?? That community or society is going to have major problems.

 

I doubt south American gangs would like to disarm themselves for the sake to sell their guns back to the US for a short term profit.

 

Exactly. The manager defended himself and the rest of the patrons. Good job on him. Without him this would have been a lot worse.

Is there one clear culture change you can point to that contributes to this type of disregard for human life? I'm leaning towards movies and tv shows. It seems like there are many which glorifies violence. Although I've never watched the show Animal Kingdom . . .

There's a great book called "What Cops Know" by Connie Fletcher and it give some hilarious motives for murders, the ice cream man short-changing a kid, whether the star or angel goes on top of the Christmas tree.
