Please, continue to condition these people that ignoring an officer is an acceptable response.
Seems to be working out well so far.

Then the police department and the city should have to pay through the nose for this rent a cop's actions

I'm all for law and order& following an officer's orders but shooting a person in 7 seconds for not listening, from that distance, is a bit over the top.

And how do you know that? Maybe we should put you in that situations and Monday morning quarterback you. Or is there some professional standard for how long you have to wait before defending yourself? Maybe they are required to let the violator to have the first shot. It would be only fair, right?

The cop was startled by the sudden appearance of the black man and fired.

The cop must have thought the darkness solidified around him and it was a boogie monster.

I'm just replying to a previous post. I dunno what you're up to. You think that if 1% of the cops unlawfully execute people on the streets, than it's just fine? Your question seems to suggest that.

    Ah.
You mean the cop is unable to preform his duty, and is guilty of manslaughter.
Seems somebody should be fired and locked up for a long time.
    I approve.

Police have guns to deal with life-threating situations. The cop was startled and unloaded his gun. It was a gut instinct. It just turned out that the monster turned out to be a black man.

It was a common accident. I think the cop gets off.

Like I wrote... you mean the cop is unable to preform his duty, and is guilty of manslaughter.
That the cop gets out free of charges because US justice system rivals the best of kangaroo courts in a banana republic goes without saying.

You say that behind a keyboard, but I think you'd act differently if you were out in the dark and someone spooked you.

Cops are trained to deal with these situations and a heck of a lot more.
And you concluded yourself this cop is unable to preform his duty, and is guilty of manslaughter.
Or are you going to say cops are just people with badges and guns, and what happens just happens?

At what point do you think it's ok to question the police's actions? The guy posed no threat to the officer whatsoever, it's clear even from that grainy video. The standard is life threatening or serious bodily harm or we can just let cops go around shooting people for (*)(*)(*)(*)s and giggles.

    Negative.
Cops get training. Hence it's true what you concluded that this cop is unable to preform his duty, and is guilty of manslaughter.

In 1985, SCOTUS ruled in Tennessee v. Garner that deadly force may be used to prevent escape.
There is not currently an affirmative action clause that lets the color of your skin determine whether of not you have to obey a legal order by a police officer - even if you do not agree with it.

I wonder when the l̶o̶o̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ protests will begin?

I looked at the dash-cam video in the opening post. That's what came to mind.

It's not an issue of questioning the police officer's actions. You may do that, but that is not what you are doing. You are JUDGING his actions, which you are woefully inadequate to do. You are a 'Facebook Judge', which is something akin to an adolescent questioning his parents decisions. I think that you should grow up, or shut up. Growing up, in this instanceentails going out on the street and answering distress call after midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Do that for about five years, and then come back and tell me what you think about police officers' actions. Until then, you have no credibility. How do I know that you have never done this? Everyone who has read your posts knows

The first time that you spelled 'perform' 'preform', I thought it was a typo. But you keep doing it. That is not the most embarrassing thing that you have said here, but please stop. The content of your posts is embarrassing you more than you spelling.

The thing that is kind of unique in this case is that the victim survived.
This man will be able to testify and tell his side of the story.
Kind of unusual for these types of cases.
I expect the authorities will try to settle this out of court as quietly as possible.

I don't need to watch the video. It is incomplete, and no one can make a judgment based upon incomplete evidence. You should not even be pretending to do so. The presumptuousness of doing so is the overriding problem with the social (and mainstream) media today. Putting social and political pressure on professional prosecutors to act in accordance with your partially informed opinions smacks of mob rule, which is completely contrary to the constitutional rule of law. And you may have forgotten that we send those police officers out there to enforce OUR law. There are a few that feel empowered to abuse their power, but they are supervised by others and routinely weeded out. When people resist reasonable inquiries and enforcement procedures of OUR police officers and bad things happen, we should back OUR officers until shown otherwise.

Yep I am judging his actions based on the video. You got a problem with that stay off political forums. The rest of your drivel is not worth of a response.
