Story here In DC not only do you have to register your guns, but you have to renew the registration every 3 years. Failure to renew is a felony. They claim they want registration renewed to make sure you didn't magically become a convicted felon that still owns their guns. That's a load of crap. If you are convicted of a felony or involuntarily committed to a mental institution your guns get confiscated already. This is just an attempt to make legal gun ownership more annoying and to get you to pay a little more money.
