Thanks for reminding me about the dingos. I have three small grandchildren who would be perfect size prey for them.

And America has bears, mountain lions, and people with guns

Think Australia is safer - even with the Crocs at Karumba

My guess is it's the airfares. It’s pretty cheap to hop around the east coast. It's not cheap to fly to Perth. My son loves Perth, would love to live there, but most of his and his wife's family and friends are on the east coast. He decided Perth was out until or unless the airfares came down big time, or he became so big time he could shout everyone flights there and back.

Airlines are not known for their warm fuzzy treatment of passengers and that is a very long haul from the US. Have never been and will probably never go because of the stories of people I know who have gone. From the east coast of the US, one has to fly to the west coast and then to Hawaii and then onto Australia. It is a major undertaking. Even beyond the expense, people just don't want to be crammed into an airplane that long or commit so much time in transit. Anyway, everybody I know who has gone says it was a lovely place but they would never go back just because of their experiences getting there and back. Europe is a much easier trip and the airfares from the US northeast are cheap if you are flexible and can get into a departure airport on another cheap ticket deal. I saw an ad yesterday where I could get a round trip flight to London for $399.00 through a travel site. That is dirt cheap really.

" Numbers by any governmental office also reflect on the governments performance, sorry I wouldn't trust them at all."

Me neither. Does anyone really believe phoning up a cross section of individuals in the public and asking if they worked an hour or more this week really gives us any idea of the true extent of labour force underutilisation in this country, for instance? Particularly considering we bash "dole bludgers"? You reckon all the unemployed people the ABS call proudly put their hands up and own being the useless drains on society they constantly hear they are: "leaners, not lifters"? Nope. Me neither.

Not going to London this year. Been there. Not really a fan. Just was surprised when I saw that price. I prefer a little less hustle and bustle on my vacations than London offers. Am looking to travel to Ireland or Iceland in the fall maybe. Nothing set in stone yet. Lot going on this year potentially draining the old budget as I just put a contract on some vacant land and may move ahead with improving it first. It needs a lot of work before I can drop a quarter acre pond into it. I basically am getting it for near nothing because the trees on it are so treacherous.
