Nope, no hypocrisy unless he had it with a side of whale. Suddenly republicans are all populist. What happened to people who are rich deserving to live better? Only if they are conservative? Regulating out of business is a bullshit whine of people who are too stupid to adapt. If there's demand for lobster sufficient for the price point, there will still be lobster fishermen, just not necessarily the same ones.

I can only imagine how pathetic would be the person, who would take the "learned" opinion, of someone who was, in expressing his view on Global Warming, simultaneously demonstrating that even a tiny news article, which he was using as the basis for his own thread, is too much reading for him. IOW: the reason for the regulation, cited in your link, has nothing to do with Global Warming. It is meant to protect an endangered type of whale, which can get caught in the lobster lines.
WTF are you talking about? This thread is about the hypocrisy demonstrated by the Biden administration on this issue.
It is you, who's got no clue what he's saying, or who is horrendously bad, at expressing it. So, tell me, what is it you mean, by "this issue?" Here is your OP's opening line: Tahuyaman said: ↑ It’s amazing how the liberal elitist mind works. While they are regulating lobster fishermen out of business, they are purchasing hundreds of lobsters for a state dinner. I’m sure liberal elites see no hypocrisy here. <End> The straight forward (and simple-minded) implication of that lead-off statement, is that the desire to "regulate lobster fisherman" is out of concern for the welfare of lobsters-- do you not see that? Hence, you see eating lobsters, as a contradiction of this protective impulse, or so it would seem. But let me hear your interpretation of how I'm supposed to understand your words. Then, on top of that, you later post Tahuyaman said: ↑ Lobster and crab fishing is not causing global warming. Besides that’s a hoax anyway. which is the post, to which I'd replied, explaining that the lobster regulations have nothing to do with Global Warming. Quick fact check: which one of us first mentioned Global Warming? That would be you. So, my telling you that Climate Change has nothing to do with the regulations-- which your OP leads off, discussing-- confuses you? Please make sense of your inexplicable confusion, for me.
OP It is too bad that most PF posters have such a knee jerk reactionary take on things. Everything that Biden does is bad if you are a reublican and everything Trump does is bad if you are a democrat. Truth of the matter is that regulations have helped Maine lobsterman tremendously over the last 25 years. Maine lobstermen have always been pretty good at self regulating, but since state laws were passed in 95 with input from the lobstermen, it has been good year after good year, with last year being an all time high in quantity AND price sold. So l am not exactly crying for the lobstermen right now. They can thank their representatives for passing laws to regulate size and type of lobster fished, amount of traps one can put out, what region you can fish in etc that have led to this bounty. There certainly is nothing hypocritical about promoting lobster at a white house reception with the french president. All the same, the democratic governor of Maine and one of the congressmen (who represents the high lobstering areas) are opposed to this regulation. So perhaps something that need to be looked into more closely. But starting off calling the whie house hypocrites I think gets it all wrong, and certaibly demonstrates that you are not quite sure of the defintion of the word. As someone stated earlier, it would have been hypocritical if they were serving whale at the dinner. Maybe 'ironic' would have been a better fit?
Let’s be realistic, conservative elitists are hypocritical too. To limit hypocrisy to the side we dislike is also hypocritical. Both sides are awash in hypocrisy which is one of many reasons I do not support them.
~ Agree. Both parties are worthless to the average American. However today one is much worse than the other. Tomorrow — who knows ..?
Government makes rules for the little people, not for themselves. You don't see any windmills producing electricity for Washington D.C. Do you? Of course not. All those Democrats want their light, air conditioners and heaters to work all the time.
