Dude we didn't make a dime off of WWI or II. In fact we lost a ton of money on both. In fact we equiped all of Britians armored division but one essentially free of charge did the same for the Canadians and furnished thousands of trucks for the Soviet war effort and more than a few tanks as well. We did the same for the Free French and then as part of Post war program to rebuild Europe we forgave most of those debts. To the best of my knowledge the only country that ever paid us back was the French.

I've heard this type of foolishness for years from Europeans. And even occasionally a few self flagellating Americans who feel guilty for living in a country of unparalled wealth and freedom. You get the same from lawyers and Democrats as well.

What all normal people agree on is that electing a perverted rich boy to insult the world doesn't make others respect your electorate.

Nobody asks you to sacrifice your own life, after all. Just children's!

Well, you presumably think something is good about the 'States, or you wouldn't try so desperately to prove you don't care for the general contempt of those who prefer the ability to cheat others out of money more than you do for children's lives.

Trump said recently that he was imposing his largest package of sanctions yet to pressure North Korea to give up its nuclear missile program, and he warned of a “phase two” that could be “very, very unfortunate for the world” if the sanctions did not work.

Trump lied. The U.S. Treasury sanctioned one person, 27 companies and 28 ships, according to a statement on the U.S. Treasury Department’s website. If that is the "largest package of sanctions to pressure North Korea" we are in serious trouble. It's not. It is just another lie from Trump, a laughable lie, I might add.

Then Trump had this to say. “If the sanctions don’t work, we’ll have to go phase two. Phase two may be a very rough thing, may be very, very unfortunate for the world. But hopefully the sanctions will work.”

Not to worry. Still another lie from Trump. This will go the way of " fire and fury," "We are locked and loaded," and "Don't waste your time on diplomacy, Rex." Trump loves to be the center of attention.

Even if he has to look like a complete fool doing it.

Fortunately, we all know Trump by now. His advisors, including his press secretary, our diplomats, and foreign leaders simply ignore him. His press secretary makes a habit of ignoring what Trump said then telling reporters what he meant to say.

Amid global anxiety about President Trump’s approach to world affairs, U.S. officials had a message for a gathering of Europe’s foreign policy elite this weekend: Pay no attention to the man tweeting behind the curtain.

U.S. lawmakers — both Democrats and Republicans — and top national security officials in the Trump administration offered the same advice publicly and privately, often clashing with Trump’s Twitter stream: The United States remains staunchly committed to its European allies, is furious with the Kremlin about election interference and isn’t contemplating a preemptive strike on North Korea to halt its nuclear program.
