    Liberals do everything they can to stifle enforcement of immigration laws. They encourage illegal immigrants to avoid checkpoints and to avoid ICE. They do everything they can to help illegal immigrants avoid following laws while entering the country or after they are here. Democrats have been pushing for open borders for years.

    I wouldn't enforce border security. Let the NYC plague rats run wild.

    They're showing the true face of coastal liberal elite compassion and empathy. Let them show themselves to be the self-centered, hollow-virtue-signalling hypocrites they truly are.

    You should do a tour of the gun stores across America. Pre-enrolment for carry permits for our classes is through the roof and it ain't the conservatives renewing, it is newbies who are waking up to the face the cops are not hired to protect them but just to enforce the laws on the books.

    typical Compassionate conservative. Can you imagine anyone saying that about red states and not being filleted alive for saying such a thing. Yet you and your allies utter disdain is always there for all to see

    Maybe we should encourage New Yorkers on how to sneak in and if any Rhode Islanders think this will threaten their safety, we can insure them that some of them would've died of the Wuflu anyway.

    Here's an update from the AP on Connecticut ferreting out all the rats fleeing New York:

    While it's good to see the ACLU acting concerned with civil liberties violations again, New York City has been trampling the Constitution for decades, so there's a fair bit of irony in them turning to it now for protection while they spread the plague.

    I saw this posted elsewhere, and whole-heartedly agree with the sentiment:

    We had checkpoints after Katrina, soldiers carrying M-16s at the checkpoints, armed military patrols, and miles of razor wire strung to protect areas that were attracting looters. It was right, and it was just because it was temporary.

    Most likely there will be a lot more military involvement coming in the near future. It will be temporary.

    Many years ago, there was a sign on Route 80 in PA just across the border from NJ. It read:

    "Welcome to Pennsylvania. America starts here."

    I didn't really get it until I moved from NJ to PA after retiring from my job in NYC.

    Liberals from the Blue State of Maine are now cutting down trees as a make shift Barrier to prevent Legal Alien New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Citizens from coming into their area in fear of Coronavius spread. Amazing how quick Liberals become supporters of Barriers and Walls. Yup! President Trumps Mexico Border Wall is DEFINATELY getting built now and the Mexicans are going to PAY! and build it to Prevent Americans from trespassing into Mexico to escape the Covid 19 Epidemic in the USA. Liberals didn't get this excited about Border Security when Illegals from the Mexico, Hondurus, Guatamala and other places brought Measles with them when they Sneaked into the USA, why are they acting so Racist and Harsh against fellow US Citizens in their own Country.

    Your right, this will dramatically change the conversation about borders.

    The EU countries least effected must be in some turmoil right now about the way EU citizens can travel within the EU.
