Pot is currently listed as a schedule 1 alongside heroin and LSD
Meth is currently listed as a schedule 2 alongside dilaudid

That’s not true, read my signature. It was done to help the government target certain groups of people. The propaganda just worked better than it did against alcohol.

The individuals that enacted these policies are on the record as saying that is not factual.

I’m trying to illustrate how inane our drug laws are

I did not say there were not limits - nor did I claim there should not be limits. The problem is that your justification for those limits - restrictions to essential liberty - completely negates individual liberty as a consideration.

All you are doing is deflecting from the fact that your justification for limiting liberty is based on collectivism (Utilitarian justification for law - Harm reduction) - which does not consider individual liberty into the calculation.

I am not the one with a black vs white perspective (all or nothing). That would be you. Your justification for law completely avoids respect for individual liberty = you do not respect individual liberty.

This is not a distortion of reality - "This is Reality"

Not only are you collectivist - you are a far left collectivist extremist and a hypocrite because the bar you use for things you agree with is different from the bar you use for things that you like.

Face it. Pot smokers have never had any trouble finding pot. The only question is who gets the money. Legitimate business owners selling to adults only, or criminals who sell to anyone, including kids. Do we want powerful businesses or powerful criminals?

Not only does prohibition serve to pad the pockets of criminals - it creates a huge amount of crime. When alcohol prohibition went the way of the dinosaur so did the crime associated with it.

In addition to the creation of a criminal element - and the associated violence - the cost of policing is huge - as is the cost for imprisoning people and putting them through the court system. Then we have the cost to society of putting people in Jail - people that often come out of jail as hardened criminals with a beef against society.

Then we have the problem of violation of the founding principle - essential liberty ABOVE the legitimate authority of Gov't - and the principle of a Republic = Tyranny of the Majority (in this case - a Minority)

That the Gov't can - willy nilly - step outside the bounds of its legitimate authority is not a small problem - it is removal of a key safeguard that is there to prevent totalitarianism.

We just don't want to pay for your care after pot-induced mental illness kicks in.

In detail, how do you feel you are paying for the care of others after the “pot-induced mental illness kicks in”. Especially considering the legality of tobacco and alcohol.

Nah - not a thing. I've been smoking pot for decades. I have never been unemployed and I pay tens of thousands in taxes each year.

I just told you. They become a burden on society as whole, and everyone pays for that.

You could google the definition of a Democrat if you wonder what it might mean.

How exactly do they became a burden on society? Are you talking about the cancer patients or the doctors that use regularly?

Repeating everything becomes tedious. I specifically said pot-induced mental illness.
