The psycho-toxins found in marijuana is no joke. They do cause mental illness and heart arrhythmia, but if people insist on doing that to themselves, then there isn't much we can do to stop it. Cigarettes are lethal, and yet legal.
Growing MJ under lights only for commercial resale should be banned, all cultivation should be done under natural lighting (With supplemental as needed). Amazingly cannabis incredibly well in greenhouses especially in the southern states it's an insult by the crazy lefties that they can justify burning HPS and air con with propane heaters for CO2 and Dehumidifers and then rattle on about climate change. Should be taxed definitely not subsidised.
What's really funny, in California the liberals thought they were going to rake in billions of dollars in taxes every year by legalizing marijuana and taxing it. The marijuana black market in California is booming today. Those old hippies in Humboldt County are growing excellent pot and are selling it for less on the streets. Just like with California's totalitarian gun laws, the black market gun trade in California is booming today (up over 400%) and why buy a gun legally when you can purchase the same type of gun on the streets for half of the price.
If you have the choice between paying $100 for legal pot, or $60 for black market pot, many will choose the $60 offer as long as the quality is same. If you need a gun, just hop in the car and pick one up on NV, or AZ. Most people would probably NOT buy a firearm in the black market. It crosses a bigger line than buying some weed.
You don't think any terrorists come across the border? Next time you are in prison, let me know if walls are effective.
There is a long list of legal items that stunt intellectual growth. Poor diet, video games, lack of sleep, CNN! How would more government involvement help?
We all know how well government programs work. The most important reason to curtail food stamp enrollment is because the program is a dietary disaster. Walter Willett, chair of Harvard University’s Department of Nutrition, observed in 2015, “We’ve analyzed what [food stamp] participants are eating and it’s horrible food. It’s a diet designed to produce obesity and diabetes.” Food stamp recipients are twice as likely to be obese as eligible non-recipients.
traffic laws have no relevance at all to anything we are discussing. But you, like always, have no way of supporting your position, so you have to either make **** up, or try to desperately deflect to something entirely irrelevant.
When you think about, its a triple subsidy. Tax payers subsidize the production of these foods, we subsidize the consumption, and then we pay to keep them on pharm products for life.
Please make an effort to keep up with the conversation. Claim: "why buy a gun legally when you can purchase the same type of gun on the streets for half of the price" The claim suggests regular people buy guns in the back alleys to save money, but I do not think that is the case. I believe law abiding citizens purchase guns legally from certified dealers, while only criminals get them from the back alleys. Do you get yours from the criminals to save money? I get mine from dealers.
interesting to see a jab at lefties in the same post that wants more government involvement in growing methods along with a new tax.
You really are naive aren't you. Do you think these guys steal guns then set up on a street corner and sell them to anyone with a buck? You need to drag your pasty white ass down to the hood and get an education. They are not selling them to anyone they don't know. That can get you 10 years behind bars. Most of the guns on the street go for 50 to 100 bucks. The same weapons new in a gun shop may cost over 500. So yes you can buy the same weapon not for half but for a fraction of the price of those in a gun shop. However, you will find the hood guns will be pretty beat up. It has probably been passed around four or five times and none of them bothered to care for it. I buy my weapons on line, at estate sales or gun shows. I have a license. I don't buy stolen property. Seeking out stolen firearms is a good way to get yourself capped.
By definition, conservatives desire control; this because they are driven by fear. https://www.businessinsider.com/psy...ctive-in-different-areas-than-a-liberal-one-2 As a rule of thumb: Conservatives give greater weight to concerns about security Liberals give greater weight to concerns about liberty
I am sorry you are not getting the point. In the end you actually agreed with what I said, although you do not realize it. Like I said (twice), regular law abiding citizens do not buy guns off the street to save some money, they buy they through legal channels. I buy on line too, and at gun shows, but in both cases a licensed dealer is involved (unless you buy from a private person at a gun show).
Probably because 1. he only had two of his eight years (2009-2011) with the House in Democratic hands 2. It was a divisisive issue that would distract for higher priorities 3. Literally nobody wanted to have to vote on this. 4.. the success at the state level back then was so nascent as to be negligible. Unless you are having some serious victories at the state level, you can't possibly dream of more federally. The key to a social issue like this is - timing. If you force legislators to vote on it too early, its just fodder for opponents to kill them with in the next election and you actually lose ground. The polls need to reflect a fairly broad base of support in purple states before you want to push for a vote nationally.
That's true - and it's also true that the Democrats want to dumb down the electorate even more, as though open borders and the educational system aren't doing the job. Therein lies the conflict and the social problems. Intelligent people who are free to make choices, and then make wise ones, versus stupid people who feel drugs will give them some insights not available elsewhere. The stupids are on a winning streak.
