I wanted the parents and their children deported 20 years ago

So while I am leagally oblidged to obey the law I am not morally obliged to give the DACAs amnesty

I owe them nothing

 

It's a bitter war to take the moral high ground on this one.

 

You don't take ownership of the things your country does if you don't agree with them. That makes you a fair weather patriot. You don't care at all that the United States is responsible for bringing these people into the country because its not something you would have allowed had it been up to you. So you think its perfectly fine to just dump them on their ass despite the fact that we are the reason they are here in the first place.

I think you need to choose your morals more carefully. You don't see these people as human.

We made a mistake, but its morally right to punish the object of our mistake. That makes no sense. When you make a mistake, you own that mistake and accept the consequences. What you are proposing is avoiding that responsibility by eliminating the wronged party.

I will vehemently disagree with almost everything Trump does, but I wont pretend that its anything less than my country doing it and that the United States as a whole elected this man and is therefore responsible for any actions he takes as our President. And since I am part of this country >I< am in part responsible for his actions. I participated in the process that brought him into power. I am an American, and I share responsibility for President Trump even though I did not vote for him. Thats at the heart of being a real patriot. Owning what your country does even when you don't support it.
