Only reason anyone disagrees on this, is missing out on common sense. I could not make Ford's claims against a woman credible for example.
In an unrelated aspect not regarding Ford and Kavanaugh, this is reverse sexism on perfect display.

If women always tell the truth, that means men are always liars. Which results in Hirono's sexist, bigoted viewpoint.(But not going challenged or reprimanded by her colleagues.) I hope the men in Hawaii realize however that someone as sexist and bigoted as that, cannot possibly represent their views or defend their interests.

Even if Hawaii needs a new democrat, find a far less sexist one please.

 

I'm just poking fun at the two tools from the New Democratic Party.

As a Californian, I'm well aware of Feinstein's predicament. She, along with the now departed Boxer participated in the ruination of California. Now with Harris, that ruination has been sped up.

Feinstein needs to be dealt with as a result of her vile actions on the JC. The problem is, De Leon is as bad for the State and the Nation as it comes.

I can tell you the sentiment of many Republicans here is that the faster California crumbles, the faster it can rise from the Progressive ashes. Combining Harris and De Leon could help do that.

Given Repubican's have been removed from the political process here, we can only vote for Feinstein, or De Leon.

The sentiment is to vote for De Leon, and send that message. But that's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

We shouldn't even be having this conversation because the burden of evidence is on Christine Ford and we all know she's either unwilling or incapable(or both) of giving us that evidence. Thus this sham should be closed.

 

Unfortunatly for the Kavanaugh nomination the hearing did expose Kavanaugh as a liar and a political partisan who is temperamentally unsuited to a lifetime appointment to the supposed independent third brance of government.

It didn't expose him as a liar. If some choose to believe his friends that he drank to the point of vomiting(which isn't the same as blackout drunk, but go ahead.), and whether he did or not is utterly immaterial. Hell, he himself admitted that he has a weak stomach. So that actually collaborates what they said.

But that's not the point here. The point is that no one can collaborate Ford's statements. No one. Just like no one can collaborate Deborah's statements either(and Avenatti's stunt will more likely throw him and Swetnick in prison for making false statements.)

And as far as being partisan? They chose to do this to themselves, they brought Ford to Washington. They invited the spectacle. If they didn't want to be insulted by Brett Kavanaugh, then maybe it shouldn't have been done in a way where anyone and everyone can make false allegations.

In short, being honorable matters. When you lack honor to use someone as a prop when they clearly didn't want to be a prop(Ford), you get the response you got from Kavanaugh. They lacked honor, they deserved to be made a mockery of.

Respect is not given, it is earned. Congress lost Kavanaugh's respect.

And once again, a Senate Confirmation isn't a criminal trial (and doesn't require any sort of "evidence").

They can vote against him for ANY reason (even the color of his tie) if they feel like it.

It may not be a criminal trial, but our presumption of innocence is a coded tradition. Be it in the courtroom or not in the courtroom. When someone makes a false allegation against you, your first defense is going to be....*shock* "They have no proof." And you'd be right to do so BTW, I wouldn't strip away your right to demand evidence, and any American's right to demand evidence.

But on the same token, we shouldn't deny Kavanaugh's right to demand this of his accuser. And her inability to step up to the plate, is utterly dismissive.

Now, if the FBI comes back with the same thing and they still downvote him. Well....Conservatives(both Never Trumpers and Trumpers) have made it exactly known how they will respond on election day.

 

IT IS an investigation that could LEAD TO A CRIME! Evidence is required.
