I agree on partisanship. I have no party and consider membership in a political party or adherence to one side's standards of political thought to be anti-American. However, it is simply recognizing the sad reality that in our Republic today, and for many years post-Nixon, intellectual honesty and courage in partisan circles has greatly diminished. The Republican party has many patriots in high office, but their partisan drives are stronger than their patriotism. Thus they will not act, not as their predecessors acted in the Nixon crisis.

I do not mean to imply that the Democrats are less partisan. Merely pointing out the reality of the partisan political math as it applies to the Trump situation. Trump is dishonest and incompetent. His side occasionally has members who speak out a bit, but will not act. It naturally falls to the opposition party to act.
